    small update from this past weekend at Summit Main with SCCA.



    this was an awesome event and my first time ever on r-comps (used 245/40 BFG R1's)... I am amazed at the grip levels compared to the street tires I'm used to running. Got down to a 25.00 on Sunday, but in this vid best I could manage was a low 25.3. I know i have more time out there in the braking zone for 1, T3, T4 (I'm touching the brakes for a second to get the front end to bite) and also T6, T7 & 10.

    I know lots of people have run this track, this was my 3rd time there, but I'm open to comments and criticism on my line and where I can pick up more time. I am planning on going back there with NASA in November and seeing if I can't beat the track record of 24.5.

    Hey everyone!

    NJMP Lightning yesterday, my first race with similar competition time-wise. Started at pole with a mid-engined sports racer on my outside and made it about 6 laps before the coil wire popped off. Couple mistakes but TONS of fun. A second race to be posted tonight or tomorrow and I have one more session today!

    Qualifying time was 1:20.5xx



    I know I missed a shift and I was pinching turn 6, but please let me know about anything else I can fix for next time I drive! Thanks.

    Here are my two other races from this past weekend. Had some real good racing with the Elva Mk7 sports racer; our lap times were only a few tenths apart!

    Here is a lap from VIR at a track day recently in a Spec E30. The passenger front rotor cracked badly down into the hat when I have the little off. Caused the tire to lock up, but I got it slowed down enough with 3 tires and one locked tire to avoid a problem. The car was on nearly corded tires but still goes pretty fast, I think on fresh rubber it could run up front.

    I like small engines, so what!

    what class for an M3 has only a 1:24.5 record?...pretty slow...it is a limited mod class? (i am not familiar with NASA)

    you can take some time off by not swerving to the left before turn in on T1, don't pinch exit on T2, drive straight from T2 track out to T3 turn in, and enter T5 from the left curb.

    Here is a video from this past weekend. It was Ontario Time Attack's Championship shootout(knock out elimination style) held at CTMP(mosports) little sister track, DDT. You had to advance through 9 mistake free rounds and not be the slowest 3/5 cars(pax time) each round. Final round of 5 cars did one hot lap CW and one lap CCW - best combined pax finish determined the winner. It was an interesting format and an absolute pressure cooker! Thankfully, I was able to win the shootout and overall championship in my GT2 classed E36 328i! Here is some footage from the day.

    Thanks for the tips! Going to try them out in November. You obviously have a lot of experience at this track. I've only been there 3 times now, but I like it more each time I go.

    Yes, TTD is a very limited class for an M3. Only modification is the suspension (JRZ's), everything else is stock. Car weight is 3200# with me in it and I make ~202whp. Hopefully I can squeak another second out of the track...

    E30 decided to throw me a curveball so it's still not ready but had a lot of fun in the wife's BRZ at the HPDE this weekend. Not my fastest session but still a blast! It's really the perfect affordable HPDE car

    In general I agree, the sound of real life trumps all but most youtube Spielbergs always use some emo alternative flavor dujour crap, I thought that track was a great choice and matched the editing nicely.

    track videos need the sound of drive trains, not "emo alternative flavor dujour crap". looses all the effect if you can't tell where the car is shifting, etc. i usually don't bother with the mute, i just kill the replay if i hear something other than the engine.

    Isn't that a predecessor to the turbo Supra engine? That's an odd engine choice, but cool nonetheless.

    IIRC, technically it is the turbo supra engine, in Japan the Mk III had the 1J in it, while the USA cars got the 7M.
