I went to a slalom (auto-x) in Germany once, and was told to roll my windows up for...safety...
Same thing at the track in europe. Windows up and use your turn signals to indicate where you want to be passed.

Here is australia it's either windows up or down, your choice, but you can't have them half way when driving
Spec E30 second place with October NASA at VIR. Some carnage and offs in here too
so when you crash, it is easier for the workers to get you out...or for you to get yourself out through the window. if windows are up, and you crash (resulting in the door not being able to be opended), and you have no power to roll the windows down and the car is on fire.... you can't get out.
Lifehammer ftw
Love this thread.
Fat old guy still shaking the rust off. Car is way better than the driver.

I prefer windows down, can feel the wind blowing... like a fast sunday cruise lol
Thunderbolt this past sunday with PCA Schattenbaum. White group. Ended up with a 1:34.00. Stock S50, 3.23, 2800lbs, Motion control singles, 265 Dunlop Z2's. There's definitely more time there but first time at the track.

Hi, my name is Joe
^ that is a good time especially for first time at the track on street tires with a stock motor.
The vid you posted looks to be around a :36 based off video timing. do you have video of the 34.0 lap? What are you using for lap times?
Quickly threw together few laps from past Sunday at NJMP Lightning with TrackTime4Cars. Playing around with my cousin in his white e36 M3 with decals. Also improved my time from August of this year down to 1:15.8

edit..just went over your build thread....it was a good read..thanks.
curious, how did u make the blk wheels orange?....Ive been reading that powdercoating is a bad idea for track wheels...even w/ it done at proper temps its sketchy...... Im not sure its worth the risk..bummer

Yeah the LS2 is lots of fun in e36, especially at the track
My cousin has stock powered 97 m3 s52. Nothing power wise besides CAI and straight pipes instead of muffler. Weight wise he has it pretty gutted.
The orange wheels are not powder coated, just plasti-dipped. 4 cans of white and then 4 cans of orange... Easily removed if needed and protects the finish if I ever decide to sell those OZs...

I found this clip while going through some old footage from this past Summer. It's a funny short clip of my throttle cable popping out of its retainer seconds before leaving the grid for qualifying at PIRC. I tried using some more editing tools in this video, so please let me know if they're helping or hurting! Thanks!
Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?

Sadly this will be the last track video, since the 2014 season is over for me.
The good news is I ended it on a high note by beating my track record at Summit Main by over 1 second.
First AM TT session on Sunday. The previous run group had an incident and as a result we did 3 slow laps before the car was eventually pulled from the track. Once we went "hot" one of the cars in my group went off track on the first lap @ T1, causing a local yellow, then eventually the white flag as the wrecker came to get him. I got one semi-good lap in @ 1:23.8 before the yellow, and was about to pit, until I noticed they didn't black flag the session. I stayed out to try and put one more flyer down and managed @ 1:22.8.
I had been trying to get into the 23's at this track all season. Came close in July with a 24.0 and new with colder weather it was doable. Was ecstatic to see a 22.8 in the results.
3 videos from Buttonwillow configuration 1CCW with the Porsche Owners Club. Not especially fast. I was focused on staying safe and staying on track due to some mud puddles off track and lower confidence levels. So maybe I'm down to 6/10th for much of these laps.
