Check out my latest vid from Thunderhill. Can anybody recommend a good free HD video editor with picture-in-picture capability. I tried to install the FileLab plug-in for Windows 8 but it didn't work, and WonderShare leaves a watermark on the exported video
I have pedal-cam footage from this session that I want to sync up with this!

Nice whip man. Sounds great!!
First time on track in years myself. Street car E30M3. New pavement VIR, new S14 motor just built over the winter. Haven't fully mapped yet especially the throttle blips for downshifting. Ah well it crossed the 2000 mile mark the hard way

Here is the video from this past Sun at NJMP Lightning. A Nissan 350Z loses traction after turn 2 and the car just snaps sending him into the guard rail at about 80-85mph. The car goes airborne from the impact. Driver of the 350z appeared to be fine physically, but I'm sure he will feel it in the evening.
The video was recorded from my cousin's 97 M3 right as he was following the 350z. Courtesy of ITNT4U:
I was testing out my LS2 e36, so here is one lap with my cousin driving in front of me in his 97 M3 for some time. My best time for the day was 1:17:2 with a lot of room for improvement. The car wasn't 100%.

best lap from summit point main last weekend with NASA MA at the Summer Breeze event.
Good enough for first in class and a new track record (.3x faster than the old record). Can't wait to go back there in November. With cooler air and the car set to KILL I am hoping to finally get a 23.x

Here's my best lap from last weekend, good enough for 3rd in TTD both days. One day I'll catch up to Marc with his 1:24s (soon to be 1:23s) but for now I'm pretty happy with my 1:26.8xx given the state of the car right now

Congrats again Marc! I'm excited to see how you do next week at Nationals!

Man, seeing all these Summit videos and hearing about times makes me wanna head back down there in the Cortina! Not that I'll be hitting any 1:24s, hah...
Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?

Thanks, Dan. Yeah you gotta use alllll the track out on T10, lol. Are you planning on going to the NASA MA event there in November? Cool Nov air should help you get that :25.
Thanks Eric and congrats on your new PB! With something other than NT01's and a nice(er) suspension I'm sure you'll be giving me a run next year.
Here is one from the end of the day yesterday at Lightning. Managed to tick off my quickest lap of the day but was getting tired and by the end realized my vision was shortening and I was going into every turn early. Pulled in a lap or two early.
I was playing with new places to mic the car and this one happened to be in the trunk. Is the rythmic whirring through T2-3 and through the lightbulb perhaps the LR wheel bearing on the way out? Thoughts on that? Never knew it was making that noise until his vid.

What's that crackling in the sound? Was the mic flopping around?
Here's my thought on the sound you are concerned about. You could probably put a mic in any car and find a sound that doesn't sound right. If everything feels fine and sounds right without the aid of a remote mic, then don't worry about it.
Great video!
Crackling is probably the mic. I remembered I wanted to change locations like 30 seconds before I headed to grid so I just taped it to the ceiling of the trunk in a rush.
I will probably put my DSIIs and take some on-ramps to see if I can rule out the tires as the cause of the whooping noise.

I'm considering it, I did that event few years ago and I really liked it. Also helps it always falls on leap year so you get that extra hour of sleep lol. It'll come down to whether or not my tires last that long. I have a 3 day weekend coming up beg of Oct and the first day is open track. If my tires last through the weekend I'll consider it for sure.
I posted a thread but thought I'd add my vid here too.

My fastest laps from Road Atlanta this past weekend with NASA.
very fun track, too bad its a 12hr one way trip.
Also had an uneventful off in T3 on one of my laps.
I don't have a trailer. A buddy towed me down to RA for that event.
In my infinite wisdom I accidentally left the external mic powered off. So all I got is wind noise (for the most part).
Finished 7th overall on Sunday.
Here is my best lap at Barber Motorsports Park during the Labor Day weekend ALSCCA/TVA Time Trial event. My first time there in the e36 M3, but I had experience at the track in a Miata.
