what turns did you feel the car was pushing the most in? What size tire and wheel combo? maybe next time try a little less pressure in the front and see how that feels.
Yeah this was the last session of the 2nd day I think, so I had no fuel left. I actually hacked off the last few minutes of the vid when I was getting fuel starvation and came in a lap early.

With more fuel in the tank I was getting it under power in 3, 9, and 10. Maybe I was early into those corners, who knows. Fronts were screaming like I've never heard before! Setup is 245 ZIIs all around.

Having sound on won't help, exhaust is mic'd, can't hear much besides that ;-)

    Looks like fun. Empty too!

E36 can get around Lightning with your hands at 9-3 especially with a wheel that small. Shuffling makes recoveries sketchier.

My first time tracking my 98 3/4/5 with 199,000 miles!!! What an amazing car! Thank you again for inviting me to the track day at NCCAR Daniel! I had a blast chasing you around the track.

I don't see any spin there! Clearly you just wanted to get your rally on.

Man, you just never seemed to get a fully clean lap! I was hoping to see if I had gotten any closer to your average lap times when I was at Summit this past May. I kept your earlier advice in mind while I was there! I'd appreciate if you could give my latest IMSA race a look and see what you think! For what it's worth, I was in the low 29's pretty consistently which I think was an improvement. I noticed you take a tighter line into 3 than I do; what's the reasoning behind that? I did notice a bit of a bump at the far right... Also, what is the redline on the S14 and which final drive are you using?

It is definitely an awesome track, though a bit small! It's the only local track to us, so majority of my time is spent racing there.

It was odd as no changes were made since NJMP last month where everything was fine. Hopefully it was a track surface thing not a fun new "feature" with my car.
    it is not the track...

you are pinching the exit of T2. you know you hit the exit if you feel the LR wheel hit the "dip". keep left side of car on the dotted line mid track between 2&3. do not drive to right side of track. that straight is a left curve. if you follow the right edge like you are doing you are loosing a car length by driving the long way around.

you are pinching the exit of T4. let the car track out all the way to the left and enter T5 from there. T5 is a throw away turn. trail brake here to rotate car.

enter T6 from left edge, turn in with LF wheel on the "notch". make one move of the steering wheel for the entire arc to T7. use your right foot to steer the car to the very late apex of T7. I can see you adding more steering halfway around, lift throttle slightly instead.

very common for drivers think they have a push in the carousel when it is caused by an early apex in T6 and incorrect use of throttle.

    suggestions....
move your seat forward a couple inches. looks like you are stretching to reach the steering wheel.
put your visor down on your helmet. road debris (and deer parts that weekend) will fly in the side window and into your face.

Thanks very much for the critique. I watched the vid again and can see what you mean about letting the car run a bit more out of 2 and not needing to get it over to the right. Through 4 I never felt like I was carrying enough speed (yet) to warrant a fully left-side entry into 5. Good tips on the carousel. I'll keep it all in mind when I visit the track again. I still can't help but think there is something odd about the track surface itself. I've tracked ZIs and now ZIIs and they have never been that loud. I taught myself Thunderbolt and despite taking some poor lines and whatnot while I was figuring it out, the car never seemed to push (or talk) quite like this. Who knows. As for the seating position, yup, now that I have seats/rollbar/harnesses and can't move my shoulders the wheel is too far away. Seat-to-Pedal position is perfect so I just purchased a deeper wheel to bring it closer. Should feel much nicer.

Added this same mic to my setup last weekend at Watkins Glen. Think it adds a whole new (awesome)dimension to the video.

Only my second time ever at WGI but definitely started to get a feel for the track. Turned in a 2:17 in my last session. Also, 911 crash right in front of me at the end of the vid.

thanks. I wasn't too fond of that guy all weekend. Earlier in the video going into T1 you can see the white e90 m3 pull out to pass him after he was given a point by. Guy then races down into t1 to the point where M3 couldn't pass. Then when he gave the point by again into bus stop, he squeezed the M3 on entry. Did the same thing right before his crash to the e36 race car that was running (by my watch) 8-9 seconds faster than him per lap.
