I hope someone can answer this question.I'm trying to use a cassette adapted but my head unit keeps showing a tape error. Is there any way of turning off that feature
Hey there!
Don't think there's an easy way to do that, as it's seeing that there's a cassette indeed, but no tape in it! You'd have to how the cassettes for old answering machine work and put some tape in yours or...
You could hack into the had unit and use the MW/SW input on its chip, I see it as being much easier and you'll get a way better sound

If you got a business head unit, here's the datasheet of the chip

I will look to see what brand I ended up with but I had the same problem with the first one I tried. Switched it and never looked back. (Although I'm using mine with an app on phone and the wires for charger and the adapter sometimes drive me nuts, need to make a cradle)
Z3lda - R.I.P. 7/6/13 crashed and burned, total loss.
Well it ended up being a bad adapter. Returned the original & the replacement works fine. I think this is about the best sound you can get out of the stock system
Takes 15 minutes to fix: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...8#post30266658
Yeah. I’ve moved on quite a bit from then.
