e36 328 unstable on uneven roads and manhole covers

Hi looking for some help if possible , my 1996 e36 328 is very unstable when driving on uneven roads or over drain covers it feels like the rear end side kicks is the only way I can explain it . It has just today passed its MOT so I can't see it being a bush or stabiliser problem all tires are good so any help would be appreciated thanks

Shocks and struts or rear trailing arm bushings.

Rear bushings trailing arms most likely.

OR do you have wider tires on the back?
If not it is definitely shot bushings

I had a similar problem where the back end of the car would change direction over bumps, manhole covers, cracks in the road etc.. while at speed
turns out both my rear lower control arms were bent because the car had been towed at one point and they had placed hooks on the arms which are just thin sheet metal and bend easily. Definately check the Rtabs and your shocks, and then the lower control arms to see if they are slightly bent at all

It clearly sounds like a bad rear end alignment. Running 255/40/16 rears I had the same problem. The toe and camber were off. Eventually replaced the RTAB's.

*rear shocks are bad, or going bad
& just in case check that your front sway bar links are not bent,
