Drove it this morning . Now I need motor mounts. It feels like it stutters at lower rpms but it goes away at higher rpms. The engine runs excellent now and purs like a kitten when at a stop or in the driveway.

    Next up:

    Motor mounts
    Thrust arms
Throw-out bearing degrease and clutch inspection. Someone greased the shaft and the clutch is slower to disengage then usual. When I do this, I am replacing the shaft selector and output shaft seals.

Well, not a huge upgrade it it surely made the interior look better. I ditched the UUC RK2 shift knob for something a little more my style. The UUC RK2 is up for sale to anyone that's interested. A member from bfc.ga makes these custom btw.

Since I have not updated this since May, I would make a new post. I have been busy with work so the car has been sitting in storage and driven every now and then. I have a Racing Dynamics rear adjustable sway bar to go in whenever I do a rear end rebuild this winter.

First thing was to buy and install some comfort seats. Unlike a lot of people here that have and love sport seats, I found mine very uncomfortable and after 20 minutes of driving my back was killing me. All of those mountain bike stunts/acts of stupidity have finally caught up with me. I am keeping the sport seats in case I sell the M Sport. Now I do not have to worry about screwing the sport seats up and drive in comfort. 100 times better.

    Cleaned up:

During install I fixed the short cables in all of the motors:

    Finished:

I plan on conditioning the seats again. The flash makes the wear look worse than it is.

I rewired the driver side since the original had the memory function. Everything including the mirrors work now, just had to make sure I had each wire for the mirrors, heaters, etc...

My M Sport in its home. I keep it in a secured storage facility since I no longer have a garage. All of my spare parts for my E34 and E90 also reside here.

Since my shock mounts are shot on the rears and failing on the front, I bought some lower mileage assemblies from a local member. I got a killer deal on these so why not. I plan on rebuilding these with better springs and shocks. I'm not a coil over person and do like a more comfortable ride.

Spare wheels so when I get my M system-II's fixed, I can still drive the car if I want. These will make great spares too.

A velocity stack manifold that I bought locally also. If I can arrange some dyno time, I'll do before and after runs.

Nice, I agree the sport seats (for me) suck after an hour or so and kill my bad back. Although sports look nice, I prefer comforts myself and have considered swapping in a pair.

I find my sport seats to be very comfortable on long drives. I play with the idea of getting comforts, but that's only to save the sport seats.

Have to agree. While the sport seats look a million times cooler and (IMO) update the interior 10 fold, they kinda suck for actual comfort, especially in such a well designed road trip automobile like the e34. I love the comfort seats with armrests in the 34.

Part of the reason I got comfort seats.

Soory it I just got off work and didn't fully read lol. I do agree they aren't the most comfortable. Especially when you take a 2-3 hwy trip with no cruise control. If I ever get them redone I'd try to get some memory foam.

I'd rather have an armrest for my seat and cruise control.

Are those EDC shocks or is that setup done for on your 540?

The EDC shocks are gone unfortunately. If I still had them, I would save them to rebuild eventually.

    Awesome car! Well done.

Question for you, since you appear to have dug into the memory seats...

Will the E34 memory seats work if the wires to the mirrors are not connected?

I am putting a set of E34 sport seats in my E28. I cannot get the memory module to function. When I press any of the 3 buttons the memory button flashes and the seat moves forward one 'click' at a time.

I suspect this is because I cannot wire up the wires to the memory mirrors...because the E28 doesn't have them. I am speculating that the memory module will only work if the potentiometer inputs from ALL of the position sensors are getting valid readings. But I'd like some verification of this.

For anyone else reading this who'd like to help: here's a test you can run for me. It will take you 5 minutes.

    - On your E34 with memory seats verify that your memory function works correctly.
    - Raise the rear of the seat as high as it will go
    - From under the rear of the seat, look for a blue, 3 wire plug going into the position sensor of the motor that is to the left. As in this photo:

    - Unplug that wire. It should pull straight out with little or no force.
    - Test your memory function (e.g. press and hold down "3").

When you do this, does your seat move as expected?

OR, does the memory light flash and the seat go 'click-click-click'?

    Thanks a ton in advance.

Since I removed my sport seats, I will go back and mess with them to verify this. I applied power to my comfort seats from the 4-pin connector that has the large gauge wire connector that has 12v constant. I also found 12v that is power when the ignition is on for the seat heater. Finding the wire that powers the mirrors was fun. I pretty much went in reverse of you and pretty much everyone else, lol. It would be safe to assume that if the memory "computer" (that's what it looks like) does not see signal from all of the potentiometers it will not work correctly. I will go back and verify this though.

New wheels. I bought some mpars from 540ifella (Josh). The 4th wheel is behind me. Going to get these refinished after the 1st and put them on after I get done with my suspension rebuild.
