E32 Under Front Seat First Aid Kit

I found a place that sells the black metal first aid kit from Germany. Brand new. In the picture below (from Real OEM) #5 is described as the bracket needed to hold it in place after sliding it under the front seat. Does anybody know how this bracket attaches? Is there a bolt....screw....or does it just snap into place somewhere. Thanks for any help.

Do you know if any of my electrical connections will be in its way. I have the eight way electric seat. Seems pretty empty under there. Just can't figure out where to snap it, if that's the case. I think I can get this little snap bracket from Bav Auto. It's only about 3 dollars, but I'm sure it will be a two week special order. Have you seen one work. Once installed, do you just push down and it allows the first aid box to slide out? I've had the car more than 23 years and never this was an option.....and I like it.

I assume it just clips into the metal base of the seat, there are holes, on item 17 for example you can see the pin on that part. Probably a plastic pin at the bottom of part 5 52101945440.
Just check my parts car, but the seat bottom is already completely disassembled on passenger side as we used some parts for seat repairs.
It will anyway fit on a electric front seat, as I got that first aid kit out of that car, and that is a 04/1994 E32 750iL where they put in all the gimmicks they had in the last production year, even electric adjustable steering column etc.
At BMW of South Atlanta the clip costs only $2.04

I worry a little because my E32 is a 1990 and has the flat comfortable 8 way electrical seat. I know in 94 there was a choice and they had a sports seat. Hoping this fits, Worst case, I stick it in the trunk, but I really want it under there. I'm thinking that number five piece is simply a release of some sort and not a true bracket. Who knows. I'd like to know how to attach the thing.
    Regards,
    Jeff

it will fit, anyway, no big investment. There was a reason to put it under the front seat, and that is simple, because in case of a crash maybe the trunk lid might be stuck, so a first aid kit in the trunk if of no real help in case of an accident.
I assume that clip is just there, that it holds the first aid kit in place and does not slip out when for example braking.

I had this in my 32. I have the memory seats.
The first aid box just clips into #5 in that image.

I removed mine and made a wooden bracket to mount my fire extinguisher in the same place.

Thanks.....I'll order the clip today. I found the kit new from Germany at Abrahams site under the E34 section. But in an email I was told it was the same kit. Bought it for $104.00 with shipping from Germany. Why not?
    Thanks again

why not. Bu if you want go strictly according to German regulations, always check the expiry date on all packages and replace them before exiry date

Really, in Germany this is checked and they can fail the TUEV roadworthy check every 2 years when some of these items show an outdated expiry date.

I will check the contents and replace and add things to make it completely up to date. This is the kit that's coming.

if you want vintage stuff inside, I can help, have the complete box from production date 04/1994, wrapped and never opened, including dust outside from abt. 20 years.

Let's see what comes inside this one first. If you remember a little over a month ago I told you I was in the process of getting my engine bay in order. I and my best friend (retired from Vista BMW ) top tech there and very well known, are doing a parts replacement rebuild just for the hell of it. The car runs as new,but it does have 170,000 miles now and I've had it since Feb of 1990. Along the way some of these things have been replaced but not for many years. We're basically making everything new without touching the block. Coil, wires, rotor, cap, plugs, 6 injectors, injector rail, powder coating a new valve cover, thermostat housing and cover, new thermostat, powder coating a new oil filter cap, both bellows, all black plastic covers.....over the mass air flow sensor, over the throttle body, over the heater valve, small fuel hoses on each end of the fuel rail, new fuel regulator, all hoses with new clamps, all three belts and topping it off with a new water pump, new pulley, new fan clutch and fan. We call this overly maintaining an E32 that's running fine. Had to find something to do in retirement other than reruns of Law and Order. This is going to be fun for me, and working with Giusseppe will I hope fill my head with the knowledge I've always wanted. I’ll post a couple of pictures when this is over. Every part being used is OEM…..down to the hoses that come off of the valve cover, all vacuum hoses as well as whatever the hell that hose is that starts at the bottom of the intake manifold and ends at the brake booster. I even found a length of that hose and the connectors and valves at each end. Took a long time for parts to get here, but we’re about ready to start.

the hoses for the vacuum are very important, you can see here the outline on Gale's site under misc. JPEG's

keep us updated with the work and make as many pics as possible, they are always good for explaing repairs. Maybe you can also write some articles for the DIY section.

I put one in my car, it fits just fine with a little 'wiggling' to set it in place. The case is plastic, by the way, not metal.

The plastic bracket just clips into the seat frame. P/N 52-10-1-945-440. $2.25 USD from Pelican Parts

Best part of it is that all the first-aid materials, including the CPR instruction manual, are in German

Eugene, you should know better... I probably have a couple kicking around (unopened contents I mean).

For those who want to know definitively:

    1. The bracket piece just clips into the seat base. There's a spot for it. The bracket piece is about a buck or two from the dealer.
    2. The kit was the same for the E32 and the E34 - so don't forget to check under the passenger front seat of E34's if you see them in a yard. You never know...
    3. The kit is always mounted under the passenger seat - meaning that Japanese and UK-spec cars have them on the *left* seat. The fire extinguisher is meant to mount under the driver's seat.

I should know better shouldn't I . No point arranging for overseas shipping if you have a spare which you are willing to let go of; will email you. Thanks to everyone for their input.

Got the HL up and running yet?

I'll get you contents from a kit, no problem.
The Highline is driving, mostly shaken down - want to do another oil change soon. It's off getting a new (black) headliner installed this week and it's very likely it'll be plated and driving next weekend.

Then I have a laundry list of slight tweaks to get done before the Leavenworth drive.
...and the lady is on me to get her E30 'vert summer ready.

Problem solved, I guess shipping from Japan would cost too much for that box and also importing medical stuff might give problems when customs is checking.
That is why BMW at a certain date skipped that also from the Japan cars I have heard, as the car inspection and medical stuff inspection are different departments. Maybe later they were allowed again to include the first aird kit w/o special permit.
