After much discussion, the details have been worked out:
Mark your calendars, the dates and location for this year's West Coast E21 Meet are set!
The fun starts on August 23rd and goes until the 25th. The return drive home will be the morning of the 26th.
The PDX crew will convoy out early on the 23rd.
**Cali convoy details coming soon**
Camping will be at Waldo Lake, Shadow Bay Campsite. A group site will be reserved and the cost will be divided evenly amongst all the attendees. The group site is only $36 per night, so it will cost very little.
More info on the campsite here:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/willa...=4514&actid=29
All reservable campsites are taken. But, not all is lost. Only 1/2 of the campsite are reservable, the others are 1st-come, 1st-served. Should this not work out, there are several other campsites in the area that we can relocate to. And worst case, we wing it an find a clear spot in the woods.
Waldo Lake is a non-motorized lake that is pristine and beautiful, if you have a kayak, canoe, or paddle powered boat of any kind, you should definitely bring it.
Some of the weekend highlights include:
*Day cruise on the 25th.
*Raffle for several items provided by some of our Legion-owned vendors
*Cleanest and Dirtiest E21 of the Meet Competition.
*and more random fun that we come up with along the way.
So, c'mon out and share the Legion spirit! And help spread the word, here's a larger resolution version of the flyer, if you feel the need to plaster one on the windshield of every E21 you see, we understand.

Please RSVP via the BMW E21 Legion Facebook page, via the Events tab. If you plan on getting your own campsite, no RSVP is needed.

It was a quick and dirty. I'm glad you like it. The photo is from last year's trip. One of the guys had a little mishap so this cap was taken off his car and nailed to a tree as an offering to the Gods of Legion.

I will be there!!
But there will be no RSVP on Facebook from me, I have no account.
I will bring the Sugar Cube this year, The M6 can just stay home.
I am looking forward to this!!
Jeff
As am I. I should be there in something a little more appropriate this year. Either the 320i or the TC1, one is going to haul my ass down. And if not, I suppose the 533i can. But any of those are better than that E30 vert with a slush box.

Fun fun!
You could've gotten some good footage out of it at least...
I will be bringing two 5-gallon kegs of home brew this time.

Hey dudes, who's in the Bay Area? Is there a Bay Area meetup scheduled this spring?
There's this:

I should be able to get some pretty good photos this year. The backdrop is gorgeous. There'll be some proper car porn from this year's meet.

I just made a Facebook Page for the event. Go there, like it, and keep up with all the event updates.

I'd really like to thank these companies for supporting the event this year! Bavarian Autosport just kicked in $100 in gift certificates and a box full of swag just to help out the cause. A $50 gift certificate to Bav Auto will be given out to that drives their E21 the furthest to attend, $25 goes to the ugliest E21, and $25 goes to the group voted favorite.
There's also word that our Legion's own brewmaster, Bulbous Bow Brewing Co. will be bringing a large amount of beer. They make:
Hefeweizen: (Autoracer) is 4.9%
PaleAle; (Hoppy Frog) is 5.1,
Red Ale; (Red Headed Warchild) (technically a strong scotch ale) is 7.9,
IPA; (Moby's Mistress) is 7.5,
RIS; (Bunker C) is 8.3,
Belgian; (Siren's Trap) is 7.6,

Damn! I really need this trade for the 320 to go through so I can come.
If I come, would it be stupid to bring my 6 year old daughter? If I brought her, would I be the only one bringing a kid?
I do believe you'd be the only one to bring a child. I plan on leaving my little one at home. This is event is more of a "driver's vacation."

That's what I figured, but with two girls and another due in June I was thinking taking one would be a nice break for my wife. I'll play it by ear and see how this newborn is.
Congrats on #3! You are a braver man than I.

Brave or stupid...and girl number 3:-(

So, I should be getting the E21 this weekend...fingers crossed it goes well
Fingers crossed then.
I am currently on the road to being E21-less shortly. So I may have to bring the E28. But there's still time to find a new E21 before the meet.
Bucket
Heck yea...plenty of time...I saw today what looked to be a very nice E21 in Brookings off 101. They were asking something like $3250.
Just checked to see if there were any campsites left and they are all reserved except for a huge 120 person site. But, only 1/2 of the sites are reservable and the rest are first-come, first-served.
Who has already reserved a site?
