Hi everyone. My 1997 540i and I have fallen into the LCM backwards compatibility trap where hardware and software do not work together. What seems to be happening is that the LCM 3 I installed does not recognize inputs from my turn signal or high beam switches. I have confirmed this with INPA- no input from any of those switches. I have read what must be dozens of threads now but nobody, save one person who used DIS, has come back saying they were able to use NCS Expert to code their LCM 3 to their early build E39. I'm not so great with computers and it took me a whole night just to install BMWScanner and the BMW standard tools suites.
Now, I do have access to my original LCM 2. Is there something I can do along the lines of reading its data and then flashing that onto my LCM 3? Is all the data I need in my LCM 3 and I just need to edit the right lines?
Or should I just eat all this and install new high beam mosfets on my old LCM 2?
i have the same problem with mine - i did the usual mileage and vin lcm coding with pasoft 1.4 but cannot get ncsexpert to even read my car at the moment, someone says i need ncsexpert to fix the stalk commands.
