    best sounding e30 exhaust?

hey guys, just wondering what your all running if you have a performance exhaust or custom .. and how it sounds :P

also opinion on headers and if they are worth it for the power that you get out of an m20?

and what do you think of this exhaust.....

I have stock headers and a custom cat-back, ending in a 20" Cherry Bomb glasspack. Sounds lovely, all growls and rumbles. I've been planning on getting some long tube headers. You get some power, but I just really want the noise. :P Also, if you heat wrap your headers from the top to about two feet past your O2 sensor, it helps a bit with power.

I've seen some nice videos on the Magnaflow 14815. I bought one myself but have yet to put it on. There are definitely better sounding and better performing exhausts, but i like what it provides for the money. It all depends on what you're willing to spend. I've seen threads where someone is completely happy with a $20 muffler from Summit.

    Don't like it.
Sounds too much like exhaust, and too little like engine.
Don't get me wrong, I've had a noisy exhaust like that on a previous E30 and liked it, but I love my stock one as it is.

    thanks for the replies guys,

and I kind of agree with you after a few days of driving it i think i need to quiet it down. maybe add a resonator or glasspack inbetween the cat and muffler who knows... its loud as shit. my only concern when i bought that muffler was it sounding like a fart can but it definatly proved not to with the right setup.

I just put one of these on over Christmas. No resonators or anything, just straight pipe back to the 14815. Sounds purdy Here's a video I took the day I got it installed.

Mines going to be attached to a completely stock system, but I can't wait to finally get it on, lol.
