    "check brake linings"

Changed my rear pads after getting the message on the dash, turned the ignition to second position for 30 sec and it cleared until after about a min of driving when I braked firmly. Next couple of times before I would start the car I would leave the ignition on and the message would go away until I braked firmly. Now the message won't clear at all, the sensor is connected tightly, made sure to hear that "click" when it went in. The part that clips onto the pads is easy to wiggle but is on there tight, should there not be any wiggle room? I'm not sure if it is a bad sensor as the message seemed to clear at first and would come on again when I braked hard, however nothing seems to have come loose.

Good idea to replace the sensor when replacing pads when the warning light comes on.

Always change the sensor when you do the pads.

It might be a bad sensor, if it's new. Or re-check your connection from sensor to car. New it should have low resistance and high resistance when it breaks the internal connection when it rubs against the rotor for too long.

Did you not say that you installed the old sensor when you changed the pads? ?? ???

If the car "sees" an open condition in the sensor circuit the warning is illuminated. Your symptoms indicate a break in the wire or a bad connection. The supposedly sealed connectors have these little tiny damn pins that, at least in rustyworld where I live, love to melt away in spit of their sealed design and cozy little plastic houses in the wheel well. Have a good look at wires for pinches and the connector.

I splat a huge load of dialectic grease in there every time I replace the sensors, and splat more in whenever I get a chance. Wish everyone would do that, it would cut down on all these broken record threads.
