    Auto-dimming side mirrors?

    I have a 1997 528i and my side mirrors have 8 wires on them. I added an auto-dimming mirror to the windshield from a car at the junk yard, I just plugged it in and it works. Do I just need to recode the LKM or do I actually need more/different hardware to get auto-dimming side mirrors?

    Do the auto-dimming side mirrors have a plastic ring around the mirror itself? If I get just the glass will they plug right into the existing hardware on my car?
