It's the only sadness that brings happiness. The efforts at happiness without turbo just led to a string of naturally aspirated cars that were boring and now you are back where you started but with more knowledge how to turbo an E36.
Incorrect . I enjoyed my s54 swapped car a great deal. Very usable power, and super reliable . E30 325i s52 swap tons of fun. E30 m3(still own) fun car to drive , and it snaps necks every it's seen.
Not sure I'll turbo this car. I do plan on hitting up an HPDE in May

550/500 is a good limit. I probably enjoyed my car most overall at that power level. Stock driveshaft, 188 diff, 5 speed works fine, no fancy motor parts needed other than HG and studs. But these cars are now 10 years older than when I started down the FI road and will need more work and be less reliable just due to age. Don't drag race and less stuff breaks that you have to replace with less comfortable stuff.

High compression with e85 and like 1bar is perfect. attainable with minimum sadness.

Looks like one of the NE turbo cars had some fun at the track. He did very well for first time out.

I took it out without lowering the subframe. Wasn't an easy task though. http://i1373.photobucket.com/albums/...psaygfjnm7.jpg Can I grind down this hump on the bottom of the diff? http://i1373.photobucket.com/albums/...pslwyyeidi.jpg
Also I think my diff cover has a hair line crack on the top right side.
