Buy some long bolts and swap in temporarily to lower diff a little.
Swap longer bolts in the bushing holes one at a time then lower subframe to get more room to pull diff out of rear. Then jack back up and swap stock bolts back in. If you have a grainger store nearby you might be able to buy threaded rod instead and cut and use it.
I'm happy and sad at the same time. It's not a 25 year old e36 but it's an auto.....I'm soooo torn

Turns out the combo of sport mode and that m54 engine will put a smile on my face. Auto life might not be too bad for a grocery getter

Wow NE section here is dead these days what happened FACE thing?
I would not want an early auto car. But the newer autos perform as well or better than manuals and get as good or better mpg. My next car will be auto/dct and AWD.
That's so true but the fun factor of shifting isn't there.
My brothers Evo X MR is paddle shifted and it's quicker than my 2015 STI but just not as much fun to drive. Also it's just personal preference. My brother is upset that he didn't get the GSR version which is 5speed.

I have been shifting for 35 years and don't feel I need to do it anymore. It used to gain performance so I liked it. Now it loses performance.
Someone pick this up

I wonder what size are those runners and the throttle body?
Selling a little piece of history today. My 97 328 vert is finding a new home. Its the car that launched my addiction with convertibles. I learned how to do a 5 speed swap and how to do coding on that car. Took the hard top,off it yesterday.

Wasn't too hard. It had some issues I didn't want to deal with. I don't think I put 200 miles on it in the last 12 months. I was going to do a budget turbo build on it but things changed. I'm getting out of the e36s. I'll be parting out the m3 after I move.

Black. It's a vert. It's my turbo project. It's never going to be a show car. I've added a custom built NHRA approved 5 point roll bar
