    Thx.
Yup, the Fifth gear detent was jammed. There was a burr in the channel and it deformed the bushing ever so slightly. Sanded it down, new bushing and new detent and problem solved.

quick question, did you ever polish the piston heads?

or did they go in with the mill marks?

WOW first post since the new Forum version. Pain in the butt LOL. I wanted to do an s50 for some reason. The S52 is obviously MUCH more common.

They did not get polished. The finish marks were just visually there, not actually raised or anything like that.

Anyway, Car is running!!!! I broke it in this afternoon and drove it home. It has pure straight pipes right now and sounds phenomenal at WOT but definitely need to muffle the sound for normal driving. Car pulls very well too and rev's incredibly fast. I can't wait to get this thing on the dyno and then the 1/4 mile to see how it feels.

Just finished a move so little has been done. Im also putting a muffler on right now since the staight pupes were brutally loud. I even got a ticket taking the car back to the shop to put the muffler on for unnecessary noise LOL.

Anyway, ill be getting to the dyno soon. Going to use a mustang to fine tune it then ill hit a Dynoshit (dynojet) since everyone here only cares about those numbers.

Im actually just as excited as you guys but a little burnt out at the same time if that makes sense.

Time for a small update. Just getting the car ironed out, have a small annoyance with coolant system but think I got it tonight! I also have to finalize some wiring in the engine bay that I left loose just in case I didn't want to use the Electric water pump I installed. The base tune was installed and the timing curve Paul Burke suggested for the Cam/Compression combo is so close to perfect, it will only need a little finesse!

Got it started and driving about 2 weeks ago now!

WAR Chip installed, loose electric water pump wires and just a nice bay!!

My new sleeping place for the car...

    Plugs after the first drive...

Looks like you might need a baffle under the radiator. I recommend Motion Motorsport's under panel and baffle if you don't have an under panel already.

Don't those header heat shield bosses cause a pretty huge leak? They don't look filled from your pics, mine went right into the runners.

    Hey Brody,

Since i also just built a high compression engine, i am looking for help with my WAR Chip, and lack of response on email, once more brings me to here...

With the M50, i need to know which way you would recommend i try and go first with the ignition, since i have kncoking at idle, or could this be too much fuel?

Its 11.5 to 1 and it feels great! The response is unlike any other moded stock compression m/s 5x engine.

It has a good amount of torque right away (2000rpm to 3000 rpm again feels amazing)

I havent had a lot of time to play with it or get it on a dyno for fine tuning but it defintely shoukd show some impressive numbers.

    94 325 always in pieces
We have an 11.5:1 s52 here that is currently making 311 rwhp on 93 octane. I am making 286 on a very rich base tune. Hope to have mine ready for tuning in a few weeks! Both cars have WAR chips. Let's see some Dyno updates!

Awesome!!!! Ill be getting mine on a dyno soon too. I reverted to a stock water pump from my electric pump last night fighting a bleed problem. It seemed the electric pump couldnt build enough head pressure to.get all the air out and since it is not driven by the engine we couldnt speed it up like normal.

Anyway car finally was bled and bled properly so im not shitting my pants anymore.

Im happy we have a few 300+ whp na s50 and 52s kickin around now. It feela sooooo good to drive with that power (I used to be a turbo freak lol)

No pistons are designed and machined by paul burke for us. I do know he sources his forgings from a high quality US piston foundry tho.
