Need Help with Bad coolant leak from under Intake manifold

Hello people. Did a search first as always but cannot find any specific reason or problem area where my coolant leak is coming from & why etc. I'm thinking valley pan but not quite sure at this point. The coolant leak is gushing out rapidly from between the Intake Manifold & what is underneath it (black part maybe valley pan) where the 10mm bolt is up front on driver side. I do not see any gasket replacement parts for that area except intake manifold gasket #15 which I doubt because its coolant leak.. Where do you think my coolant leak could be from or why coming out in that specific area? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the car is parked in front of the house now. Thanks

The Picture points where my coolant leak is coming out of rapidly. Red arrows

    Just 1 E38, for now
The ONLY place for a coolant leak over there is the valley pan.

Actually I stand corrected. There is the cross over pipe that run over the valley pan. But those usually only would leak at the edge meaning at the water pump or at the back of the engine. If its in the middle of the intake then chances are it is the valley pan. Its a metal pipe so if it was actually bad it would probably burst....not leak.

There is a metal pipe that attaches to the rear of the water pump. The o-ring could be shot.

    valley pan leak

Word is the valley pan leaking is a common problem with our e38s. Just set aside a weekend for the R&R. Many good write-ups on the procedure on the forum. Here's another good video: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E1vFrxQcqk[/ame]

    Good luck!

^^^ Thank you everybody for all your input. Just wanted to get an idea what it could be because was not sure if I was going to tackle this job myself & I wanted to start pricing & ordering other replacement parts since Intake manifold has to be removed.

its a pretty easy DIY just give yourself a good full day...

i just wouldn't do too much testing to try to findhwere it is because you run the risk of breaching your crank case vent tube ( the pipe that connects the OSV to the CVV) and getting coolant in your crankcase...

Haa I was actually looking at your DIY long time ago when I stumbled across your site when I did my OSV early 2012 (just wish I did the valley pan & a few more hoses then!).. Thanks for the reminder.
