Well a little bit of a teaser. The car made it to the track for the first time yesterday. I don't think any one got any action shots. I did kill my 02 sensor so it had to disable it and turn the boost all the way down. But other than that I am happy to say it slid really really well. The only other issue I am seeing is that it has a lack of self steer.


And I went offroading and found a tractor tire. Luckily this is the extent of the damage...

Sunday was a pretty good day. I am still dialing in the tune. It kind of falls on its face if I come off throttle and its hard to get back in it. Here are the couple pics I have so far.

Love those front wheels on your car - suits the e21 very nicely.

The self steer issue you noted, do you mean that wheels don't like to self centre when exiting a corner? If so, have you checked/adjusted your caster angle?

Thanks. I have the rears as well.

When drifting after you initiate you can usually "throw" the wheel to steering into the turn and let go and it will find the angle your car is moving. If that makes sense. I haven't checked the caster because at the moment there is nothing I can do about adjusting it. I did pull like a degree of camber out and it seems to have been a little better on Sunday.

Finally got around to installing my racing seats this weekend. They worked out perfect. The Sparco mounting brackets have the perfect offset to match the e21 floor, although as you can see the outer is all the way down while the inner, you can't see, is 2nd from the top.

Wow, thread from the dead time...

So it has been a long time since I've updated this. Don't worry you guys didn't miss much since I haven't touched it in almost a year. Well I'm finally back to work on it. There is one change though, the m52 is gone and I'm building a stroker m10. The goal is to get 400+hp from a high boost light weight motor. I am currently in the process of collecting engine parts.

I also realized I want to do more of a full on race chassis so on Friday I decided to do this.



Then Saturday I cut the cowl out and threw the subframe back in.


I'm going to start working with some tubing this week and build a new lighter weight (removable) front end.

So what happened to the M52???? I've been so busy lately I kinda neglected all of you fellas....but I re read your thread and this is the moment you came back and just went with the 4 banger. Did Tom scare ya again???? hahahahah

Haha nah, if it was Toms doing I would have wound up with an m42. No I just decided that I didn't really want all that extra weight up front. If it would have been and aluminum block I may have stuck with it. The more I looked into the simplicity of the m10 the more I liked it. The fact that the m10 block is the base for the m12 doesn't really hurt its credibility either. Of course my new engine isn't just your run of the mill m10 either. Went drifting this past Sunday. Overall the car performed great. Need to make a few tweaks so I can do it again this coming Sunday. The car ran great all day, I'm getting used to the handling the more I drive it. And I added a couple temporary battle scars.

Hey sorry I meant to respond to you already. It is a group 2 replica kit with some tweaks to fit my wheel and tire size. Look up Jasa Carbon on ebay Portugal.
