how did you go about painting the intake manifold without removing it? did you sand it down prior to paint?

I just removed as many things from around it as I could, masked a few parts off and then just brush painted it with hammerite. Really pleased with the finish for how simple it was.

Suffered from quite a few coolant leaks after doing all of this turns out the OEM hoses did not like being disturbed. So I've replaced quite a few hoses.

Only issue is now the thick top radiator hose is knackered and I can't find a replacement!

Perfect! Only problem is the $40 shipping to the UK. Would it really cost that much??

Didn't realize it was that high! I just did some searching, checked a few sites, including ebay, and bavauto was the only one that was cheap. I'm not sure why https://www.bavauto.com/11-53-1-276647u

It's 15 us for shipping which i think is about £11

It's fine postage is $40 flat no matter what I order so I'm putting a list together of hoses and intake pipes etc to make it worthwhile. Thanks so much!

Order from bav auto landed with me the other day so set about fitting the parts.

Top rad hose and new coolant bleed screw can be seen here.

Car is now holding onto all of its fluids! Driving lovely. Just need to get around to getting my new tyres fitted up to my BBS's.

Make sure you get all the bubbles out of the system. Mine used to overheat until it "burped".

Have done mate. Plenty of hose massaging took place. And bleeding pre and post fitting of cap.

What a great car! Congrats from a fellow UK member!

Have you toyed with a manual conversion or are you keen to keep it original (ish)?

Thanks mate. No never considered it. I've got my 200SX for fast paced activities and prefer a nice cruise in this one which the auto box is perfect for.

These are ready to fit tomorrow hopefully.

I have the same rims on my 840 but with chrome bolts instead of gold. Best looking wheel ever!

Spent a few days cleaning it up so thought it was worthy of some pics.

Actually lowered it a touch more today

Need to get these back arches sorted out though. They are seriously scabby.

Still got this and loving it! However....

....Anyone got any ideas on what could be causing a major issue I'm having...

Car drives fine 98% of the time but once every minute or so the check light will flash twice and the auto box will drop into 3rd (limp mode basically) and then almost immediately go back into what ever gear it should be in, a minute or so more of ok driving then it will repeat the fault.

I've changed the gearbox oil once by dropping the pan and replacing same amount of fluid that came out (i didn't force flush it as warned about) and the electrical plug on the side of the box is clean and free of oil. Any ideas?
