You got wood!
did you happen to weigh it?

you could see if you could pick up a sheet of 3/4" birch from a local woodworking shop - one near my house carries it and i've used it instead of mdf. it's most likely lighter and won't warp/disintegrate if it gets wet (possible in e39 trunk)...and it's a great baffle material for your mid-bass/sub drivers.

Got the base board sanded to fit perfect, 1/8" all the way around for upholstrey. I put the mock up baffle in there and my original amp layout looks funny, the 2kd and 400.2 differ in length by an inch... Looks off balance (forgot a pic) So here's a couple more layouts

Are the sub magnets towards the trunk or cabin?

So I decided to make the baffle board much more shallow, allowing for more trunk space... That is half the reason I'm doing IB anyway.
I know it's not cut right, I cut it to my original plan and decided to change it but didn't have enough cardboard to re-cut
And this will be the layout
We'll see how long this plan stays in motion. Lol
I like it.
I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why I see so many RCA connectors on the processor and amps... Has the new lineup gone away from Symbilink?
It's Zapco's balanced signal system. That's a shame. It's so, so, so very absolutely silent.
So, what are you going to cover everything with? If you are looking for a grey trunk fabric that's as close as possible to the e39's oem grey, you're looking for FlexForm carpet in Medium Graphite. It's a solid grey, not salt & pepper like most trunk liners, is not backed, and conforms to curves. They are about 8 different greys (dark grey, med grey, med graphite, graphite, silver, med opal, med dark pewter, and special graphite), and I have seen the samples in person... Medium Graphite is definitely the closest. I just ordered a yard from the first supplier below for the back of my sub baffle.

I'm gonna re-wrap or dye everything black. Faux suede and vinyl is what I'd like to do. I hate the gray trunk personally.
Yeah, I feel ya on that. I'm not crazy about the grey, but I can't say I hate it. If I was doing more than the back of a sub baffle like you are, I'd go black as well

As the saying goes "once you go black...."
Anyway back on topic I think the floor arrangement looks over complicated. I would look at moving that processor away to a side panel . Benefits are you won't have as much RCAs to fit into a confined space and secondly I presume you'll need some sort of easy access to it for tuning.

Got the baffle close, still needs fine adjustments.
Holes are cut, glueing, glassing and filling the kurf
I have to state the obvious: make sure you can get the finished piece through the trunk opening

Mmm... Ready for some HAT porn next weekend?
"Hey there Josh,
Just wanted to let you know that I got the email telling me that the speakers are enroute and on the way. I would expect them to arrive on Monday or Tuesday. I will let you know as soon as they arrive. Thanks again for the business."
More progress on the baffle while I wait for the glue to dry before gassing.
Reinforcement/trim rings
Threaded inserts
The inserts hold tight, was able to wrench on them pretty good. But I'll wait to glue the rings on until I get the baffle and subs installed to see how much force I can comfortably put on it.
Got the rear shelf deadened/sealed, gonna use expanding foam to seal all the large voids and cavities. Also got the baffle glassed, had to heat my resin before applying, but it's not 100% dry yet and is crazy sturdy.
