Looks fun! Would love to see your project!!
I've spent a bit of time in the skunkworks garage of BMW SF myself examining Bmw motorsports factory weapons; is your race shop in the Bay Area?

work in progress.....
Have you thought of 3D scanning a 1:18 or 1:24 model of a GTR? It might help with setting up the correct proportions which you could then detail up further.
SuPer nice project
cheers

added the vent....
bmw motorsports of germany has contacted us. they are trying to get a set of tooling for us. there are 4 different sets of revised body work. we are being very specific of which one we would like.
So where do you stand on chassis design?
Today was my first read of this thread. Not sure you can run scca GT1 with the transmitions you have unless you get an exemption.
I'm really interested in seeing where this goes.
Funny, you asked that.
I have the chassis at the shop as of today.
I suggested to the owner that we build up an S54 w/sequential gear box and run GT2.
He didn't want me to post any pics. until more assembly is done.
Here's what I was asked to do:
1. Assemble the E36 PTG Carbon Body.
2. Build an m42 Turbo Engine, Engine management.
3. IF, BMW Motorsports of Germany doesn't come up with the E46 GTR body, I will machine them from the reverse engineering.
So, this means no pics?
Who's chassis is it?
There will be pics. Once we start assembling.
waiting for BMW Motorsports to respond for tooling.
I'm going to start a thread for a Tube Frame E36 PTG build this evening.
