I'm lookin' for some really immersive sci-fi space oriented games. Looking for something very Star Wars-esque, with the different alien cultures and such rather than just taking place on earth. Free-roam is a huge plus! I have KOTOR and Mass Effect already. I also tried X3...but man, those missions take a really long time that I just haven't had yet :P

Captain A: I actually used to play Galaxies a lot and loved it. I downloaded the free version of SWTOR, but haven't had the chance to get into it yet.
sCingilli: EVE is an excellent game! I did a 14 day trial years ago with a few friends, and even with my old computer at the time it was still pretty great. If only it weren't sub basedBut I had forgotten about Homeworld! I saw that one again a few weeks ago (I used to really not enjoy space oriented games, but I sort of got into the mode recently :P ) and need to try it out. I also had never heard of SoaSE before. Browsing the Gamespot review, it sounds like a solid series! I'll most definitely be giving that a look!
indianajames: EDIT: Oops, misread your post that someone had missed the game as a suggestion, not that I had missed it's playability. Dang! Maybe it WILL go open source.

Kerbal actually looks pretty fun :P Maybe it'll help me train up for when I take over and bring back NASA.

For my annual Christmas "do nothing" break I grabbed the Mass Effect trilogy. Almost finished all 3. Great games, but I suppose you really do need to play through all 3 to "get it."

Homeworld 1 & 2 have been properly reworked. Release date is Feb 25th, IIRC.
