Go grab another one at Harbor Freight. It's worth having extras of those handy (cheap) bastards.
Apparently, my new house is 10 min from a harbor freight. This is bad for my wallet.

So finally got around to installing those plates. I picked orange for some reason. Let's keep with the skittles theme I guess?
Anyone have suggestions on how to reinforce this stuff? I don't like how much I had to cut out.

Shouldn't have to reinforce it, you're bolting a big plate under it so as long as the nuts have washers (like they do) it will distribute the load over a big enough surface area that it doesn't matter. I mean ideally you would have left the little bent ring in the middle, but yolo
I'm going to have to adjust the other side to hit that ring cuz my car is slightly bent so I went ahead and cut it all anyway
I know it's probably fine. But after seeing E36 shock towers mushroom, I'm surrd. Hold me.

Could also run a strut bar.

I don't see one for E30s tho.

Alignment update: Helps when you install you e30 rear toe adjusters to toe in not toe out

I feel like most drifters are secretive of their "Secret sauce" alignment specs but whatever. I don't have before specs in the form of pictures but I had -4.5 degrees of camber in the front and ~10.5 degrees of caster. that's with the GC camber plates flipped to extract more positive camber out of it. So the SLR kit did a good amount. This is after the SLR camber/caster plates slammed to the max. My chassis is a bit tweaked if you couldn't tell. I could probably get down to -2.2 camber and 7.3ish caster if my whole setup was straight. I think the plates did a damn good job. Don't pay attention to the rear. I accidentally set my toe "adjusters" to max toe out. I'll fix that soon. I didn't want to make the alignment guy do it (E30s are funny).
I have an at home alignment kit that does errthang. So I'm going to see if it'll match what the real rack says. If it's reasonably close, I'll never visit a real alignment rack again.

am I misreading or is that toe a bit funky?
Front toe is off because I got out of the car. It's a titty bit toe in (0.04)
Rear is jaaaaaacked

Thanks for posting them and not being secretive. <3

Definitely me IRL, go see my new wonder woman movie lol

PS theres tons of peoples specs in a thread called "help me dial in SLR kit" or something like that
ooh I'll google. So far looks E36 heavy tho I guess most of it applies to E30s.

TFW you get on the alignment rack and you've been drifting with toe out in the rear for the past year. For anyone who wants to know terrible it is, I had to drop the subframe to access the nut on the other side of the adjuster. Granted, I could have welded the adjuster farther back, it starts to bind up the bushing. The picture below is good for about -0.5 degrees of toe adjustment. Meaning, I might still be toed out <_<

Also, with the SLR caster plate thingy, my wheel sits much MUCH farther forward. And instead of getting the SLR adjustable CAB, I just cut a part of the front wheel well out...

I'm also not sure how this happened but now I hit on the control arm with my rim. *sigh*

$170 I don't have right now sadly. Also V8 headers are super close to the cabs.

Car feels great with the reduced camber/caster now. I just go too quickly through tires

Looks like you need some spacer! lol Hopefully that will help clear the LCA. FWIW... I like to run my E36 front settings as such, 9.5* positive caster, -4.5* ish of camber, and 1/16th" toe'd out.

I already have a 17x8 with 25mm spacers for a total of something like -15 et total. To not mess up scrub, I don't want to add anymore spacers.

Mmmmm... a little negative caster? You have a SLR kit right?.. Run a little more spacer and add a degree or two of ackerman. I would think that will balance it out if you're worried about scrub while sideways.

audioscience10's point is valid about the adjustable cabs. I'd like the caster to get down to like the 5s. I'll settle for 6s.
