Yea the Sikky pans are real nice, and I can understand wanting factory reliability. To each their own man, good luck!

I'm getting older and grumpier. I don't really have the urge to make ridiculous builds anymore. I like the idea of just changing oil and spark plugs to drive to an event. Have a full interior and can listen to music on my way. No trailering, no worrying if my car will hold up. Just go. I'm not competing. I just want fun.

My buddy's ls1 made 360whp and 390whp with headers, full exhaust and a tune from a well known tuner in the Massachusetts area. I'm sure a stock ls2 in an e30 is fun enough haha. Real reliable motors
Well I'm at least making some kind of progress. Drove by a cop and he didn't yank me. Which is nice. There was no space under the car for the big ass muffler I wanted and no real way to fit either of the borla XS mufflers in the space given. As a concession, I just welded the 4 inch to dual 3 as a single muffler in the back. The car is still fairly loud but I didn't get too many stares driving around my neighborhood. I'm thinking of buying/making some kind of silencer inserts for the time being. One day I'll pay to have the damn thing done properly. Today is not that day.
I'll sit on that. Next step is to get it past safety. So many things aren't working it's not even funny. Hopefully putting the interior back in will quiet stuff down some more.
Here's a print out of the work I have to do to get the car past safety.
Nothing is really that bad. Well minus the part where it says "inspect for altered emissions system". Riiiiight. I'm going to methodically go down this list and fix things. Hopefully making the car more dailyable in the process. My cluster flopping around is annoying. I don't think a working tach is necessary to pass safety. But the reverse light does need to work.

Primer instead of lime green. I want to get to the track asap so I'll do the body work some other time.

Everyone is stripping their interior. I put it back in. 75db idling inside my car? Yea. I like that. No one else seems to agree with me lol.

I like what I see
Couldn't agree more. Funny I never even had a stripped car other than my full-on pro car, but all my friends had stripped out street cars and after riding in a few, I said, yeaaaaa... F this nonsense.
I'll take a mild weight penalty, and just drop a good deuce before heading to the track LOL.

If I had interior parts to put back in my car I would have. Dailying a stripped caged car does suck noise wise.
I found a guy parting a 318 so I stripped that mofo OUT! There's still bits missing here and there and putting the stereo back in after I had stripped ALL the wiring out was kind of a pain. But now the car is great. Just trying to button things up. Feels good to be able to hop in and go anywhere legally and sit next to cops in traffic. The V8 noise also tends to mean I get pulled over less for some reason. 'MERCUH

The car finally made it to the track. Got a tow thanks to a really good friend of mine.
The day started off annoyingly. The hydroboost unit was internally leaking and dripping on the headers. Tech didn't like that so I found a way to seal it up just enough that it would work for the day. Then, after a few runs on a loop I don't like (no ebrake), I noticed the valve cover vent that was open to the air (and never gave me troubles) decided to vomit all over the engine bay. Some fuel line and a coke can fixed that for the time being.
Then, I do one run on my favorite course. Worked great! Do a second run, so so. Third run after checking fluids and such... car dies in the second corner. Get towed back. Fried ECU power wire from the battery. Melted the fuse holder. Put in a new fuse holder with a 20 amp fuse instead of the original 40 amp. Unplug everything else from that circuit except the ecu. Go for another run. Same corner; car dies. At that point, I can't diagnose where it's coming from and I think this car has had this issue for a while. So I finished for the day. Sad.
I did get a few pictures.
And here is my first run on my fav course.

Video is cool but audio sounds like you're in a submarine.
Yea I dunno what happened to my gopro. If it's out of the case, the audio works fine. The audio used to be great even in the case

I should probably update this more often. I got the oil lines hooked up right. Power steering cooler is in. I'm waiting on diff parts before I can start driving the car again. In the mean time, I'm plumbing up the hydro handbrake sikky sent me as a prototype.

Between the pump and the reservoir actually. It's on the return line to the res. Otherwise, I don't think most coolers are setup for that much pressure. Or so I was told.

People told me that you can have air bubbles in the top of your oil cooler if you're mounting it this way. Did you think of it or didn't you have any problems in the past when mounting an oil cooler this way?
That's the hilarious thing right? I ran my S52 this way when I was boosted. Never had an issue. I talked with the FD mechanic on the team and he said it all evens out pretty quickly and you don't need to worry about it. So I just mounted this one in the same spot as the S52. Yay!
