Sadly, I don't think I'll have any updates till next year when I have a chance to actually go to the shop.

    The JE CRX lives there...

I might as well go into some issues with the swap. For the 1JZ swap I did, we used a boosterless setup. I still have yet to drive the car but I have a feeling I'm going to hate it. I never did know what hydroboost was until recently. Apparently it's driven off of the power steering pump. You just need to get a linkage to the system and that's the pita.

On top of that, the steering guibo gets in the way of the headers so I'll have to swap to a solid thinner one. I've only seen one other or sale. IIRC it was like $250 so that blows. The oil pan comes with the kit and so does the mounts/drive shaft so that's good.

Anyone have any leads on wiring stuff? I might be doing that myself but I'm unsure.

There might be issues with the water pump. On the bright side, I may be able to run a thicker radiator. I'd like to bullet proof the cooling system so suggestions are very welcome.

I think fabbing an intake pipe will be a bitch but most of the rest should be straight forward.

High flow pumps are always a plus, you can even run an electric pump if you'd like, and then in between runs you can leave the pump on to keep the coolant circulating which would help a lot. Less parasitic drag too on the motor.

Also, thicker radiators always dont equate to better cooling, stewart wrote an article on that- http://www.stewartcomponents.com/tec...ech_Tips_5.htm

If i were in your boat, I'd run an electric waterpump wired into a temp switch, so even after the car is off it will continue to cool until it reaches the desired temp.

Even with fabricated headers, the steering shaft takes up the majority of the real estate. Even if I could physically clear them, I wouldn't trust rubber near that. It's ok, I'm not making the headers. I might order the steering coupler or have one custom made for cheaper. Time will tell.

Honestly, me either. I had to sell off everything to pay for it. Although I still have my GTX that I haven't sold.

Reading meow. I'd love an electric pump but damn things are so expensive. $600+ for a good one!

I run stock waterpump, thicker rad, and a 160 thermostart, street drive it, sit in traffic, and drift never creeps over 210. Cooling fan set on 180ish and also have a manual override i turn on when drifting when i remember lol. Fuel pump pretty sure its a stock bmw pump and a corvette fuel filter. May need a little more since i have a 5.3.

The walbro 255 held up to 500whp. I think this should be able to do the measly 400 this thing should put out.

What's factory temp though? I'd like it to be as factory as possible.

Normally sits around 170-180, after drifting and stuff it gets there which is just about normal operating temp 200-210ish like in a normal car. Goes right back down waiting to see what summer is like.

How much were you able to pick up the LS2 for if you don't mind me asking?

Seems like a lot of the LS engines in California are all fetching for a lot more than everywhere else. I may end up having to have one shipped to me. Sometimes the prices are double here than what everyone else is asking elsewhere.

I can't really say as the shop the car is at is the one that got the deal for me. more than <$5k but > $10k is about what I'll give ya lol. But you probably figured that. Full LS1 drop outs shipped run about $5k.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not power hungry. I think it will do more than what I'll need for anything. Plus, with that tq curve, just snatch another gear. I'm simply excited to get the car back. But I still have some time to wait.

Hell yeah!! Love to see a GM V8 powered E30. I can't believe you spent that much on a stock swap but i guess if your not sure of what to get or use you need to do that. I'm piecing/ building my LSx swap. Get a stewert replacement pump. I know people in the drag race world that run electric ones and there great...until the electric connection is broken for what ever reason and then you overheat QUICK. Also make sure you run a baffled oil pan or dry sump system like what I'm gonna run. The LS7 motors came with a factory dry sump so i'm getting off the shelf GM dry sump=) Also the FAST stand alone ECU is a great option for LS motors and also the GM performance parts ASA cam is amazing for $250 new from GM, .575 lift and .270/.280 duration. I'm good friends with a few GM parts guys so yea...

The sikky pan should do me until I can go dry sump. I didn't really spend THAT much on the swap. Besides, I get factory reliability and a base to work on from here if necessary.
