    All parts are ready for the engine build bar the CAMS. We are chasing blanks now. So;

    1. Group A block prep'd and ready.
    2. Group A crank back form balancing.
    3. B35 head ported and combustion chamber re-shaped. Valve seats re-done.
    4. High performance springs/valves in. Using larger Alpina diameter valves.
    5. Group C high comp forged pistons prepp'd and ready. Rings in.
    6. S14/S38 conrods prep'd and ready.

CAMS are the issue and need a solid push. hoping that the engine is ready mid to late March for early April install.

With CAMS still being an issue we are having troubles finding blanks for the Schnitzer B34 grind. We have the grind card but no blank.

As such we have ordered a big catcam. We will run the 314/277 degree cam with 12.45mm lift. Big lift and long duration. Race only and won't be street-able.

We are about 3 to 4 weeks away from receiving the cam, then we can put it together four or five times, each time checking the clearances.

I'll run it with the 45 DCOE's but if we find the engine is pulling power right up to 7500rpm and, that we still have good airflow, I'll consider 48DCOE's for a later upgrade.

Expected engine complete by the end of May and then a few weeks for install and dyno.

Cams are in, all parts in, engine going together. May be a month or two as Pip, the engine builder, is off to Silverstone with Jim Richards and the Group C 635CSi. If you see Pip in the pits, buy him a beer or two. http://www.fullboost.com.au/fb/index...i-silverstone/

This reply is coming about 4 years after the question was asked regarding your wheels on page 1 of your build.
I have a pair of 15x8" ten spoke rims that look very similar to yours, only 4 lug. Mine are Superformance brand from Australia, so those are likely native wheels that you have, if you haven't positively itentified them yet.
    Beautiful car!

Nope. Never identified them. I'll Google Superperformance and see how we go. Thanks heaps.

Pip is back and engine now coming together. Hopefully ready late this month or early next month. Then off for a bench dyno and triple weber tune.

Finally, engine built, ready for pick-up and dyno tune. We'll run it on a bench dyno.

As previously discussed the engine is a Group A / Group C hybrid with original Group A and Group C parts. Pip used an original Group A block with oil sprayers but, used a modern crank as the early cranks were a weak point. The pistons were a Group C (single cam, not the twin cam) set that Pip had sold to a mate of his in New Zealand 20 plus years ago. Pip called him up, found they were not yet used and then bought them back.

Here are Pip's two sms'd photos. He's an old fella and as such not big on I.T. I'm mightily impressed with his 5 sms's with photos and write-up.

    Engine Photo 1.jpg

    Engine Photo 2.jpg

    Better photos to come.

    Here's Pip's comments.

    Pip says:

Engine Specs: Engine specs. Evo m30. 86mm stroke.94mm bore.

Mahle motorsport full skirt forged pistons 10.7/1 comp ratio.

Modified head to suit piston dome. 47mm in valves.37mm ex valves both stainless. Cat cam as per card. Cat valve springs and retainers. Ireland engineering hd rocker arms.

Shot peened resized m3 144mm conrods with arp bolts.

Iwis timing and oil pump chains. Rebuilt oil pump. Modified electronic distributor.

Suggest use castrol edge 10w60 oil. Set ignition to 31' total. Very important to run cam in @ 1st startup 2000rpm for min 20mins.

Suggested max rpm 7200. Need to check valve clearances cold after 1st run and check oil spray bar banjo bolts

There's a bit more to it than the above. The specialist Group A machinist spent a week re-shaping the domes into the shape that won Jim Richards a 6'er touring car championship. I'm pretty sure its either a 314 or 318 CAT cam with 12.75mm of lift and 5.35mm at TDC.

Pip also ported the B35 head and then port matched the extractors and the Weber manifolds.

I'll sit down with him in a few weeks, or months, and go over the entire build while throwing down a beer or two.

I need to pick the engine up. Pip's in the same State but still 6 hours away (each way) so a 12hr round trip.

Looking forward to the dyno. The bench dyno will follow my S38B38. Will post dyno results, vid's and photos.

Then, GO-PRO in and off to the track for a shakedown!!!!!!!!

Engine paid for and being delivered May 19. Will take a week or two to put it back in and then off to dyno.

Engine is back and with my mechanic. Not the best shots as taken by my mechanic and sms'd this morning. Will get better shots later in the week.

Bench dyno in two or so weeks.

Looks great to me! Love the M30 with the triple sidedrafts...brings back 30-35 year old memories.

Here are some clearer shots, with my 633CSi in the background. The 633 is about to get a race S38B38 dropped in with said race engine being wired with a megasquirt as I post.

We needed to order in the brass nuts for the extractor pipes. These are squashed nuts that lock on and do not undo. A lock-nut without the plastic that will burn off. Engine now lined up for bench dyno. Note how the nuts are ovoid? Brass lock nut without the polyethylene.

Car picked up today to head to mechanics to put the engine back in. As she has been laid up minus an engine for two years I'll do a full liquid change myself.

Car booked in for a dyno the week starting august 27. Lot's of body work to do but once she is running well, I'll do suspension set up prior to worrying about 30kg of bog and a spray can paint job fix. The body can wait a few years.

A few photos of her heading back to the shop this morning for engine and gear box placement.

Engine back in car. Needs all plumbing, wiring and gearbox plus prop shaft back in. Needs complete fluid change. But we should be on track for Monday August 27 delivery to dyno.

Two small issues. RHS (so drivers side, over here, where we drive on the correct side of the road) engine mount bracket will only line up two bolt holes. So I'll take the bracket away and get it fab'd up. The thrust bearing for the race clutch is not in the kit, so need to track one down.

    Lots of work on Saturday.

We got the engine mount fabricated, painted and back in. We then put the gearbox in and connected the drive shaft. Now all we need is a service, fluid change and to connect all electrics and the accelerator cable.

    20180818_123957.jpg

You can see where the engine bracket misses the forward block bolt holes.
