Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
Damn chuck did a good job with those wheels!Originally Posted by Kevlar

None at all! The suspension is the Ground Control Advance Design race setup, it's N-A-S-T-Y.Originally Posted by mpowerme

Only issue he'll have is when he has to have the shocks rebuilt from driving on the street with them. There pretty much a track-only setup and dont take well to street abuse. My dad has his rebuilt on his race car after 1 season of racing on smooth ass tracks. No way his will hold up much longer with the street abuse on those precise dampnersOriginally Posted by CMT
He has already looked into the rebuild, laughed how low the price and turnaround time was as quoted from Ground Control, and accepted it as a part of the suspension.Originally Posted by m3ltw98
edit - I just re-read my above response and it seems to come across as a bit prickish, and this wasn't my intent. When you told Dan this same thing a while back over AIM, Carmen called GC who reassured him that the rebuild, if/when necessary, would be minor in both turnaround time and cost. The car is garaged for the months of November to the end of April, and since Carmen is competent with a wrench he will have no problem getting the shocks out to GC.
The suspension is way too agressive for me for street use, but he loves it. The car is also hands-down the best handling car that I have ever driven, but that isn't saying much as I am no race driver. He is at Mt. Tremblant this weekend. It's his first time in that thing on a track, I can't wait to hear how it all went.

Your response above wasnt prickish at all. I was just giving you/him a headsup about the suspension. The setup is badass but as long as he doesnt mind the rebuild and its not his daily driver like you said, thats fine. Mt. Tremblant is a sick track w/ great elevation changes and awesome grip all over the track. Its as smooth as the F1 tracks you see on TV. Cant wait to hear what he says about it.

What you DO with these things...
Hot is not the word. It's one of the cleanest and most well put together bmws I've ever seen, one of the best cars period really. That is the kind of production that makes me appreciate cars all the more. Congrats to him and everyone that put that car together. To admin: sorry, had to postOriginally Posted by Mik3 Agby
