If these dealer order guides for the 4 end up being all that is offered to the public, it will be really lame:

The options are pretty much identical to what you can get for the current 3 sedan, which doesn't align with their marketing hype of "greater sportiness, greater exclusivity and even clearer differentiation from the BMW 3 Series range." They need to offer some unique exterior colors and distinctive interior options, maybe along the lines of what is available with the 6.
Also disappointing are the latest spy shots that presumably reveal what the production car will really look like. Most of what was interesting about the concept and made it significantly unique from the F30 appears to be missing. About the only thing they have left in place is the bimmerang, which I think most of us were hoping they would ditch.
Since photos of the undisguised production version has been shared..it gives us an idea what to expect. We definitely wont get anything that looks like concept version with the beauty treatment..
The recent pics shows the 4 looks like it's almost as close to the concept version but if you look closely, the nose and the bumpers have a softer treatment compared to the agressive look of the concept version. Or maybe the agressive look is reserved for the "M4"? The side grill/ vent is retained, that's a welcome sight

Looks like BMW is splitting the 4 series range with a "Gran Coupe" version just like the 6 series. Some spy shots have emerged of the car under heavy wraps >> 4 series Gran Coupe.
No further details but I wonder why the extended models variations. If it does comes where would they pit this in terms of pricing? It would seem that i may encroach the 5 series pricing range.

I hope this new 4 series isn't trying to kill the 3 series. The 3 series is the most classic and best series in my opinion. I was very happy with just a 3, 5, and 7 series, although the new 6 series is sexy...
It seems whenever BMW releases a new model of the 3, there are Audi and Mercedes a year behind or in front of them playing the one up game. A 4 series GC released mid-life of the 3 series sedan (and into the latter days of the current F10 5 series) will keep offerings fresh.
Bmw need to get a grip, the 6 series is for people that want to buy further up the chain.. The x1 is shit too, as is the x6, the new 7 series is hideous.. Too many models that look shit..
Hope they don't make it look like a Honda Accord Coupe when it finally comes out.
yup, lets make all there cars look like e30, and e38 again, so they can sell less cars, they are building what people are buying. we are enthusiast most of us dont drive new stuff so we really dont have an influence on what they design.
if they make a perfectly round car and it sells 50k cars they think they hit the design nail on the head so they make more perfectly round cars. ha ha ha
you should see some of the crap nissan was designing when I worked at there proving grounds....
