I was going to wait to post in R&S until I got my M5 front bumper on but with the weather, it might be a while. Regardless, I think the car is worthy for R&S posting now that I have my wheels/tires on.
I sold my turbo E34 to build this as I have always wanted an E39 and I am a sucker for tourings in general.
99 528it "individual" car in Mojave metallic brown.
So far I have lowered it on Fortune Auto coilovers (having to kind of put the rear setup together myself which is still a work in progress as they only offer an M5 application), tinted the windows 5/20/35, painted the trim and pillars piano black with PPG base/celar and wetsand/buff, facelift lights with Nissan Murano bi-xenon projectors and Orion V2 AE's and lastly so far, I installed a set of 19x9.5/10.5 Varrstoen TE37 reps with 245/35 & 275/30/19's.
I have ordered my GM performance crate LSX 427 making 550hp/580 ft lbs of torque with a CTSV accessory kit, LS7 ECU kit and a brand new TR6060 trans. I bought engine/trans mounts and headers from Josh (JesusFreak). I also purchased an autokraft oil pan, Shroeder sway bar, SS powersteering lines and fittings for install. The drivetrain should be here shortly so I can get started on the swap.
Here are some pix thus far. I will continue to update as I go.
As she started out..

Subscribed. That will look so good with the m5 front bumper.
what's the ET on the front wheels? have the same set up
Looks good, I want to find an e34 touring for my old lady
Great progress. actually bumper isnt so bad, I'd try the wide grills and all black no chrome moldings. And needs two nice large exhaust tips instead of what it has now.
Looks awesome! Are you going to do black kidneys and clear sidemarkers? That is going to be epic with LSX.
Wow! It's already one of my favorites!
This is going to be soooo sick!
I love the progressive tint! Great idea!!
IIRC, they are 20 in the front with 15mm spacers. The rear are 22 or 23 and fit perfect.
I will definitely do blackout kidneys and clear markers as well as celis rear tails. M5 rear bumper will come down the road. A bit pricey for the tourings and I have other things I need to buy first

wow, that's gonna be awesome!
Leave the bumpers. Shadowline the grills and trim.
Already ordered the mtech front abs bumper from Umnitza and bought M5 door/fender trim off ebay. Will leave the rear bumper for a bit and cutout both sides for dual with quad tips.
Very nice!
Thanks!
It was very easy to remove the trim. I saw this thread and decided to go for it.

R&S is not worthy of this!
i'm always a fan of your work!
This is gonna be amazing! So beautiful already!!!!

As a fellow touring enthusiast, I will be watching this thread. Looks great so far!
This.
RVAE34, you have selected on of my favorite models of all time.
I've been looking into getting a V8 E39 wagon and putting a turbo kit on it. Yet, when I see this swap I can't help but to consider this as a moment of enlightenment.
I'm very interested in seeing how you swap the engine and tranny in.
I'm also a huge fan of your other work!
