So what's the consensus on the new Bilstein's?

Youd be buying old ones. The new ones came out about 6-8 weeks ago.

I put a set of the new Bilsteins on a customer's 99 M3, otherwise 100% stock. He is VERY happy with the ride. I did notice they were considerably firmer than stock, but not bad by any means.

I am still going with shortened Bilsteins and custom valving for *all* my cars. Those Bilsteins are damn nice shocks, just a little firm on the compression damping.
