I wanna know too...but it's gone now? I also saw some kind of scale that allowed me to rate people, but that is gone. Can someone please explain these new features?

Not military school... it will just help people know who and who not to do business with on the forum. A few people have been burned by shady members... hopefully this will solve the problem.Originally Posted by Daved
It's a work in progress at the moment, so we'll see what happens. It may end up like my last work in progress... a failed project that ends up being removed days later.

If you click on the scales under your own name, it will tell you how many points you have. I'm not sure if you can view what people have said... it's a work in progress.Originally Posted by SilverBeam

meh, the way I look at it:
If it is used to determine a sellers/buyers credibility rather than trolling, I could care less.
I mean only the crooks have to be worried, right? If you are legit, you would want positive reputation. I only buy textbooks from people that have a 5 star rating or someway to direct contact. If I were in the market for any goods, I would be more inclined to buy with this system, rather than acting on blind faith.
When I click on my personal scale, this comes up:
Your reputation on this post is Even.
You have 10 Reputation points.
However I cannot view any comments of even see how many are positive/negative.
Also, when I go to rate someone else, it asks if I approve/disapprove of their post, then asks me to add a comment.
My concern: This will turn into a shit throwing contest, not a seller/buyer rating system. Since I can basically enter whatever I want about anyone on this forum, those that hate each other will sling mud at each other using this feature. This concerns me as I occasionally do business here and have an excellent reputation, yet in OT, I tend to express my opinions and piss a lot of people off. I do not want those I offend with my opinions to trash my profile just because they don't agree with me and ruin my business reputation.
It's a trial by fire process... if it doesn't go over well, then we'll remove it. We'll never know if it will work or not unless we try it.Originally Posted by LukasBMW

If it does become a problem, I suggest limiting the ratings to sale transactions, as that is the most important time to know if someone is shady or not.

I got two dots.

so when is this reputation system going to start working properly again? Ive seen this system on other forums such as IS300.net...
Does everyone sees a scale aside the post number?
I see it on mine, but I don't see it on everyone else???

If you click the scale, it tells you your rep points, and lets you know if a post has been repped.
However, it says I'll be famous soon enough, but as we all know, I'm already famous
