The most desired fabric? Black or Gray Hurricane? E46 M Tech Alcantara?

So lets say I could have just one of these reproduced. What would be the most desired fabric? This would just be the fabric and you would have to have your seats recovered in it. What would everyone like?

    Black Rain?

    Gray Hurricane?

    Black "Zig Zag"

    E46 M Tech:

The last one would be the most expensive for sure because it is perforated alcantara

If other, please include a picture.

    Don't give up hope! UPDATE:

"Design is ready to test. I have to set the loom up with the right yarns."

Here is a list of people interested in fabric. Please be willing to leave a deposit if you would like to be on the list. I would not require the deposit until actual samples could be shipped out to everyone. The aim is for $70-75/yard.

Thanks for the link. I know there were a couple not included but it seems the ones in the poll are the most spoken about. Looking to get just one reproduced. It would need to be woven though so the E46 alcantara is sorta out of the question.

If you could get a 100 yard roll of this and have it match the OEM stuff you could definitely make some coin. Hell, i'd buy a couple yards.

    Call the Whaambulence.

I doubt you'd even be able to source a sample to get an accurate proof made if you don't even know what each version is called. You're welcome for saving you the effort of doing research.

Personally I don't even want to see this done because the E30 community has already exploited the reproduction Evo cloth on anything/everything.

Honestly, not interested in making a lot of money. Rather just provide the community with some of the fabric. If anyone has a swatch that they would like to "donate" to the cause, let me know. If not, i'll be in Germany in 2 weeks and might just buy a seat and cut away the fabric.

I prefer them not being re-produced!! It will devalue them!!! Umm also .... You are missing the Grey M-Cross a.k.a "Zig-Zag"!!!!!

Just to clarify. The First two pics you posted are Rain. And the so called "Zig-Zag" Either in Black or Grey is called M-Cross.

I just got the Grey M-Cross....if i had black interior to begin with i would kill to get Black Rain.

Honestly, it isn't going to be cheap to get seats recovered. You would probably need a total of 10 yards to do seats and door cards. Then you will have to pay someone to do it. I would say this would be a big cost. The cost would probably come close to actually buying a set.

If you are using real alcantara those things go for at Minimum $100 a yard! But i would love to see some other designs though.

Anyways these below i think would look great on vaders

I can promise you I can get real alcantara for MUCH, MUCH, MUCH less than that. Gulf fabric killed the US pricing. I could take care of that if needed.

    Too many
According to my VIN pulls, here is the breakdown of the 5 fabric types for the US-spec E36M3s.

In '95, three fabric types were offered:

    • "STOFF AMARETTA/ANTHRAZIT" when translated is FABRIC AMARETTA CHARCOAL (Terminal black)
    • "STOFF AMARETTA/GRAU" when translated is FABRIC AMARETTA GREY. I've seen this called "Terminal Grey" in build sheets.
    • LTW received a full cloth interior w/o AMARETTA trim. Instead that trim was replaced with a plain Hurricane cloth and Red Hurricane seat backs/bottoms .

For '96 and until the end of the production run, two new fabric types were offered and the fabrics from '95 were discontinued:

    • "STOFF M/CROSS/ANTHRAZIT" when translated is FABRIC M-CROSS CHARCOAL
    • "STOFF M/CROSS/GRAU" when translated is FABRIC M-CROSS GREY

Edit: Ahhh, someone beat me to it.

I'm with a lot of people...I'd kill for the Black Rain Vader interior in my Estoril Coupe.

One thing though, the e46 M-Cross pic does not do that fabric justice. It is absolutely beautiful in person. However, I'm not a big fan of the seats they are on. That fabric on an e36 vader with alcantara bolsters would be the ULTIMATE interior. Custom, one of a kind, but still in keeping with the stock + look. Sign me up...
