540i starter relay

I'm having a no start issue and I have narrowed it to a starter or a starter relay as I can bump start the car.

Can someone tell me where the relay is located at!?

You may not have one, pretty sure the starter relays were eliminated in the 540's with the tu engines.
They use to be behind the glove box.
If you don't have one the EWS provides 12 volts directly to the starter solenoid.

Pull the glove box out, <5 min job and you get full access to everything back there.

Why are your posts so ignorant??? . Sell ECU patch??? To whom and for what???????? If somebody has a supercharger he already has the tune so no need for one and if you just buy software to install on stock car-well--you must be stupid .
If you want to go back to stock then you just reprogram your dme with GT-1/Progman, INPA or whatever. And again you cant just buy a used DME and reprogram it to fit your car, does this have to be repeated to you in every post?????

There was a much better one about a month ago, I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about.

You need to go back and read post 2 and 3.
I was talking about removing the glove box to get access to the relay, if he even had one.

I know this is an old thread but I am doing a manual swap on my 98 540i and need to know how to access that relay. I have removed the plastic 10mm nut on the white carriage that everything is attached to but I cant see what else needs to be done to remove this.
