Sold my H&R springs so I decided to go ahead and order the M5 front bumper in ABS from Umnitza. Anxious to see how it fits. Lastly, I bought a real nice oem M5 exterior door/fender trim set off eBay.

I will keep the stock bumper for now. It does have the nicer lower lip than most E39 rears. I just can't justify spending $400+ on an aftermarket PP bumper right now. I would rather put that towards a diff or something more worthwhile.

I did find out why my engine has been held up. The guy finally got the ECU kit for it and threw that in with the package!! Definitely shipping this week. And my friend is going to Tremec this week for work and is going to look into the TR6060 for me

So excited about my rims! Will be here tomorrow and I am leaving work early to go get the tires mounted and balanced. Then I will head to my best friends house as he has a really nice hub mount fender roller.

cant wait to see your rims mounted, what is the difference between a tr6060 and a t-56?

I believe the shift rods are stronger in the TR6060. I know there are a few other subtle upgrades to allow it to handle a lot more torque but not sure exactly what they are.

Man, I am so jelly! You're going to get your rims mounted before I get mine on (and they have been sitting here for a week already!)

I totally agree with parkerbomar; you gotta get that rear bumper! It will make a huge visual impact and will be the finishing touch.... especially if you are going with quads.

I'm going to have to side with Brandon on this one. The rear bumper on his car is very attractive, I feel the M rep bumper will be no better looking.

    Seriously?

....No way does a regular bumper compare to an M bumper! It changes the entire visual dynamic of the car by curving in vs fanning out at the bottom (far sportier), plus it already has the contour cutout for the quad exhaust. (see comparison pics below) Once the new wheels and M front goes on, this will be the missing link that will hint to the awesomenes that will be lurking underneath...

Go ahead; Put it to vote and see which bumper wins...

Sorry Brandon, You know I love you, man! ...but you really need to reconsider this one.

There is nothing sexier than the business end of an M5!

    One final pic;

    Enough said.

I definitely agree with you, Tim. The M tech bumper is better. But the one on my car isn't all that bad looking with the lower lip and you have to realize that the touring rear bumper is wayyy more expensive than the one for the sedan. And currently I believe it's only available in PP and not ABS plastic. My budget is starting to get a little low and I need to make sure I have enough leftover for exhaust etc. I will be doing dual with quad tips so I will be cutting material out for the openings. If I have a really good month at work, I may splurge. The front bumpers, headlights and rims were far more important for me to acquire.

Speaking of rims... I am just sitting at home waiting like a kid at Xmas. Someone else will have to post after me though or else the pix I post shortly will be automergerd and lost into the abyss of threads about headlights

We're on the edge of our seats, waiting to see the rims on the car! Yea, I forgot that you are not dealing with a "regular" M5 bumper.... so definately don't forfeit the exhaust if you have to make a choice right now. I'm sure you will want to keep the rear bumper on your "to do" list for future mods though.

Remember the conversation we had about my Msport bumper and your std bumper on the e34s and how the trend reversed on the e39s? I still like the tucked look better (even on e34s)

This profile shot is what makes the most difference to me... Smooth!

    Nice! Looks awesome.

Time for clear side markers but looks amazing. That engine looks so bad ass, can't wait to see it in there.
