Btw, got some good news/bad news.
Good news is that my LSX 427 will be here this week. Bad news is that GM is flat out of TR6060's so my friend is going to check directly with Tremec.
I thought I was subscribed too this thread. The headlight retrofit looks like it went really smoothly though. Planning on doing something similar with mine this winter if I don't get held up on other things. Keep it going RVAE34!

^ this looks awesome!
A guy in the e34 section has a brand new OEM set of shadowline trim for my car for $449. I can replace parts, but I am not very good at painting anything (I don't have the patience).... So would I be better off buying the OEM set or have a bodyshop accomplish this for me?
(I also thought of carbon wrapping mine just for the hell of it).

Tim, I would get the OEM set if they are gloss. If they are flat, you don't need good paint skills to do that. I actually liked the chrome trim on my alpine E34. IMO, if you go shadowline on your car, you should do the kidney surrounds as well.
Side note, amazed that Umnitza is getting AE's from CA to VA in only 2 days!!
I will have to say that I am bit conflicted....
Black trim was a must for your touring, but I actually like the chrome against white on my e34... It's just that the chrome trim is starting to look dull and a bit hazy. The inner part is actually the worst. I could probably get by with replacing one or two sections, but you know how this goes... once you start replacing things, the new stuff looks so much better that you end up replacing ALL of it.

You can show off your lights when you install has finished? And if you could record the video as it is lit at night and it looks like from the front Thanks and even what the approximate cost of all the fun?
I don't have video capability. I will take lots of pix though. I need to make sure I get some pix of the standard 1st gen Hella HID output first.
Are you inquiring about the cost of the headlight project? The lights were $180, the projectors were around $165, angel eyes were $220. I am using my existing bulbs and ballasts for now but will upgrade to Osram Xenarc CBI D2S bulbs later and they run about $185.
this is cool....

nice tank, btw!
Thanks! Got the new angel eyes in. These are the Orion V2's in opaque from Umnitza. I need to make a strip to cover the top section where you see the wires.
Teaser....
I'll get better pics with my DSLR later.
Mmmmmmmmm. Winning!

Sweet. Now, just picture a blower sticking through the hood...
I like the lights btw, have to give those a try.
Good luck on the build!
