E39 touring LS swap project

Springs and rear shocks arrived. H&R springs which I am only using for the rear and Bilstein HD's. Wanted something stiff with 580 ft lbs of torque. Fortune Auto coilovers are being built for the front and I should have those within 2 weeks. Also got my mounts yesterday. They look amazing! Great work, Josh!

how much do they lower the rear with the stock wheels? I am looking for a suspension to buy on the rear of my touring.

Took some better photos of the color. I need to get a number of small dings fixed and re-spray a few panels.

I installed the H&R rear springs and Bilstein HD shocks which feels great. I will install the coilovers up front next weekend. The rear drop is subtle so far. Hoping it sits a little lower once everything settles.

Hoping those rear springs settle in a little as that was a nightmare of a job. Next weekend the front can go as low as I want.

You can take my word for it H&R springs didn't lower the rear at all.

Is the car sitting on 16's?. The car looks lower than my 528 ( I dont have SLS on the 528) stock with 18's. - JT

It is on 16's. But it was at the same height prior to install. Just talked to Turner and they said shouldn't need to settle. Sucks as it was a royal PITA to install. Now I am going to have to do this all over again. Does anyone know another spring manufacturer that actually lowers the rear?

Edit: The only other thing to consider is that I haven't lowered the front yet as my coilovers aren't here yet. I was going to throw the H&R fronts in this weekend just to see what it looked like but the rears took so long that I was over it for now.

did you put the stock spring and the H&R side by side when you were installing them? Should give you an idea how much drop is expected.

Indeed but I have never found that to be an absolute final drop comparison.

The guy I bought my E39 from sent me this. My dream interior. Might have to look into re-creating this.

Absolutely love my coilovers!! Just took it for a drive and it's wonderful. Will get some photos tomorrow. Lowering the front helped make the rear look a lot better too.

are those Fortunes? I didn't know they were making E39 stuff, atleast they weren't when I was looking for coilovers a few months ago. I picked up a brand new set of H&R streets.
