Will catch up on that thread asap.
New owner picked up the car and drove it home to PA. I talked with him when he got home and he seems very happy with the car.
What a feature! Did you know this picture was on their site?
Yeah, I have known Matt for many years and sent him some images to use.
Sweet lens flare, will the new owner be a forum member or disappear from the bmw forum world...?
Congrats on the sale, and looking forward to the E38 build =)
Thanks! I don't believe the new owner is a member on here.
The E38 is moving along. S62 is at machine shop. It's getting a full re-build but will remain stock. I will be ordering the ESS supercharger this week or next and Trevor is starting to pull the M62 this weekend.
This is the other car that replaced the touring. 1971 Datsun 510 that just ticked over 17k original miles. I had a pro polish it last Friday before cars and coffee. Looks and drives like a new car.
Wow Brandon, that car is a real time capsule!
By the way, The weekend blew by, then a thread popped up in which we were talking interiors the other night, and it hit me, I was supposed to pickup those bits from you and did not. Sorry about that, will pm you for a number and an addy so I can get those things out of yer hands. figure out a proper time with you. I will have to drive out that way in the Snotwagon, the Cessna172 we use is waiting for an engine, and the 140 is just too small.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
WOW! I have to say that thing looks insanely clean! I don't know much about these cars, but I know you are well versed in them and can only imagine you found a gem here.
Wow sir that looks amazing

Yeah, I have always been a huge 510 fan. This is the lowest mileage dime I have ever seen for sale and I cannot believe it's mine! It should go up in value about 20% per year too. I have it insured with Hagerty for $25k just in case and will raise that every other year.
It has to be an approved car. They would not insure the E38. But yes, you tell them the estimated annual mileage, the declared value you want to insure it for and then you pay the full years premium up front. I believe it was $389 for the year with a $25k declared value. My dad tried to get his NSX insured with them for $65k and they wanted $1200 which I thought was high. It's more for older cars it seems.
The guy who bought my wagon broke his hip and never ended up racing it. He reached out to me. I had the chance to buy it back but my wife insisted that I build another garage before adding any more cars so I put him in touch with the second highest bidder from the BAT auction who bought and now owns the car. He seems very pleased with the car and I look forward to hearing more from him on here. His name is Dean and he is in TX.

Yeah for sure. He even said he would hold it until the spring for me but my wife said I have to build another garage before any more new (or old) car projects.
The titanium silber Wagon on the right is now for sale. :-D

I plan to use the 427 Wagon for as many autocrosses/time trials as I can make it out to. I used to routinely race an 02 C5 Z06 with a cam and loud exhaust and the Wagon is very similar in many aspects, albeit 1000lbs heavier, still a hoot to drive! I need to figure out an extra set of wheels as 19" race tires are expensive. ;-)
Never had a chance to catch up this car wile it was in Colorado,
maybe I will see it sometimes in Dallas
