Same here. Actually, I think mine is a little bent right now from pressing a bushing in on my rear shock.

Thuppu from your pics you have a good speed and dip frequency but you need to dial the heat back. You're turning the welds gray due to heat.

Ok. Should I use less power or how can I reduce the heat?

    Less amps, more/better gas coverage.

You're doing thin wall tubing. What TIG machine are you using? On my machine I'd be around 50 amps or so.

Ok, I have been saving the gas by having the flow as small as possible. It's quite expensive to fill the bottle here where I live(Argon ~130euro/20liter/200bar). My Tig is a cheap china 200amp AC/DC/Pulse/Plasma combo machine.

Have been thinking to upgrade my torch with a gas lens though.

Gas lens is great. I would rock like 15 cfh or so but your primary issue is your amps are too high. you want to be using 1/16" filler at the MAX. I actually like 0.045" filler on thin wall tubing.

No prob - I am not pro, but I have learned that the grey is the oxides/carbon forming. It stinks because it essentially "un-stainless"es the stainless steel.

Made this intake support for the E30 M50 car all 304L so it shouldn't have rust issues - I plan to leave it raw, I think. I kind of like the crude/industrial look:

Yeah on the highway I'd expect about 30. My '95 E34 525i gets 30.6 indicated and 29.x real MPG on the highway at 60 mph over 300 miles. So, I figure it should be at least that if not better.

You do nice work. Wish you were local.
Its interesting to see how corrosive some Non BMW coolant can be on aluminum cylinder heads.

Just bored and wanted to fix a problem. The intake on that car was dangerously close to touching the alternator pulley (which is the fan design type).

Anyone have an opinion and a Y adapter turbo manifold for a m50 e30? Utilizing the stock exhaust manifold, and creating a top mount, just like the numerous m20 turbo fiends?
