I like where YOU'RE coming from,
(though I agree with Otis...I've never heard or seen reports of failures)
the ONE good reason I can think of for a flex spot
is to make REinstallation as easy as the first time.
After heat cycles,
do the metals start to shift a bit, making these FOUR (4) piece puzzles (manifold, turbo, DP & WG) a bit of a tight fit.
I noticed that putting my 666/MAXpsi puzzle back together took some nudging after the heat cycles. I remember thinking, "Golly, I wish one of these pipes had a flex fitting." Was I simply having a difficult moment or do the 4 piece puzzle shift a little?
*I actually use the word "golly" in my thought processes*

I fabbed up this motor mount arm using mild steel, tigged the section that bolts to the block and migged the gussets. I normally mig mild steel, but tig not so much I used 70S2 steel rod. Is there a different type rod used for mild steel?
Made it to fit a 4" intake.

^^you my friend need a tube bender. i would mimic the triangle gusset on the other cut/angled part also. When I have to angle square tube, I don't cut the outside part, instead I cut a V out of the inside, that way you keep the metal intact on the outside corner. I should get off my arse and build these. I have a JD2 tube bender collecting dust in my garage. Welds look great!

Got a new welder today for the shop. Left the Diversion 165 at home.
Miller SyncroWave 200, picked it up for $1500 with the bottle & a new torch head from the guys across the street. Used for maybe 15 hours max, been sitting in their shop since they stopped custom work. Cleaned it up with some degreaser and it looks new.
