What mod you wish you did earlier?

So I did a simple mod today and changed out my transmission mounts with UUC street with cup enforcers. It made the shift so much more direct and I thought to myself, why didn't I spend this 45 minutes when I bought the car?

So what mods have you done that you shouldn't have done much earlier (looking to see what other mods I should be doing).

My lighting upgrade was another one but cost a little more.

Poly tranny mounts make a huge difference compared to stock mounts. AA diff brace also made things feel more solid in the rear.

I made an exact thread when i first installed UUC tranny mounts. After 8 months, one of the mounts separated. they were the red street isolated mounts. They make a new version now that is suppose to not separate.

For me it was the X-Brace. Quick install and boy did that make a difference in the corners!

CDV delete on my first Bimmer. I was depressed for a week in regrets that I spent 6 months with a slipping clutch.

I just deleted my CDV a few days ago. What a difference...at least I only had to live with it for about 3 months since I bought the car.

Not really a mod, but I suffered for about 2 weeks when I bought the car with the stickiest, hard to open door handles. Each time I thought I was going to break the handles off. Thought I needed latches for sure. Then I lubed the damn things and they were just like new. Was kicking myself after that one.

Clutch pedal replacement...I went with the Mason Engineering clutch pedal and couldnt be happier with it. If you dont go that route, at least replace the clutch pedal bushings and get a clutch stop to go with it. Before I swapped mine out, I had a lot of side-to-side play in the clutch pedal.
Current: 2011 X3 35i M-Sport, Deep Sea Blue Metallic, Oyster Napa interior, Afe intake, RaceChip Ultimate.

Past: 1998 M3 sedan, Cosmos Schwartz Metallic, Black interior, Euro 6-speed, AA Stage II TwinScrew supercharger, and a bunch of other mods.

    OP,
i'll just wait for your UUC failure thread

Uh oh maybe I was looking in the wrong place. I thought the consensus was that evo3 was the best period?

Mine's been fine going on almost 2 years ownership. And the height adjuster has not seized on me. There's a lot of hate towards UUC. Some is factual, some is bad luck. Others just bandwagon.

he was talking specifically about the motor mounts there (as was I)

the Evo3 has had its fair share of documented failures also, which is why I didn't buy one, compounded by the failure of the tranny mounts.

I'm not sure what it is about the Evo3 but it's not built as well as the Evo2. I know personally 2 different guys who had failures with the Evo3s.

I have an Evo2 in my current car that's been there since 2003, according to maintenance records. I was considering a Evo3 in my old car before I knew any better but I ended up going for a Bear Motorsport kit's lever
