While the m2 certainly is awesome, it sure isn't pretty when parked beside the e36.
I think getting rid of an e36 like yours could haunt you for a long time.
Goddamn ... now I gotta find a DY e46 M3
I had an alpine/Modena (not lux) coupe a few years ago ... it was absolutely mint, perfect condition, low miles, etc. Sold it 'cause we decided we needed something more practical for winter, and needed some cash at the time. Worst decision I ever made ... really wish I found a way to keep the car, and being 1 of like 3 on the planet, it would be impossible to find another.
Yours qualifies in the same way I would think ... keep the car, your future self will thank you!

I need my garage to look like the DY group photo above... LOL! If anyone has any information on the DY E39M5, I'd be interested if the owner still has it. Only 7 were produced. The M2 is absolutely stunning, I'm actually going back and forth with BMW to try to get an individual M2 - you can already guess the color. So far they've only done one and it was Austin Yellow.

Dang, I take a week or so off from this forum and miss the arrival! So, you're researching 4-post lifts. And yet you've got a picture of both cars tucked away nicely in the garage. What am I missing? If you can do it for a picture, why not do it always (other cars in the family be damned)?

Don't do it, it'll be tough finding another super clean e36 m3!
At the feast of ego, everyone leaves hungry.
Just went through this whole thread, such a beautiful car. Hope you can keep it, I still regret selling my E46 M a few years ago with low miles.
Been keeping it hidden in the garage, covered. But have been able to sneak it out for a few autox and some cruising. Did a quick tire rotation, inside wheel cleaning, and checking of the brakes. Planning for an hpde in a month or so, might get some new front pads prior. Should still have it.

Today's a good day. We passed California smog! That time you're sitting, waiting for your turn, as the cats start to cool after flogging on the freeway to heat them up... 10, 15 minutes. How long is too long before you pull the eject and go re-heat?
The sad part - I've only driven 3,330 since the last smog, 2 years ago.

A friend gave me this poster yesterday. What a great addition. Need to find a place to hang it.

First you need to explain how both the M3 *and* the M2 both live in the garage now?!
