My E38 730iL project V12 Bangkok, Thailand

Hello, Just bought BMW E38 730iL year 2000 still cost me 21,000 US dollars in Thailand. I also bought half car from Japan cost me another 6,500 dollars. Now I am doing engine swap to M73B54 V12. Since I am a new member so can not post any link and picture. Hopefully I can show some of the work soon.

Wow! Cars must be very expensive there. Surely it would be less expensive to buy a car in the US and ship it there. A nice later model E38 can be had in the US for around $5000.

Please post plenty of pictures as you work on your swap!

Becuase inported car tax in Thailand 250%. I also bought new Z4 23i year 2012 I paid 150,000 US dollars.

Awesome, I look forward to seeing how it goes! I've been thinking a lot lately about potentially putting a new engine in my 730iL at some stage... I was thinking about just going with a bigger M60 motor, but the V12 is a brilliant idea!!

I just googled the car in Thailand and the price on that one was real close to yours. Preventing new members from posting pictures and links is a spam preventative the moderators use. Participate in the forum for awhile by commenting or welcoming new members and you will be able to post soon. Look forward to the pictures!

150k for a z4???? how much they go for here??? 60k max? cars might be expensive, but my manager is from Thailand... sounds like a truly epic place....

Yes, cars in Asian countries are much more expensive... I am in Indonesia and the car tax is ridicolous...

Don't wait for that to happen - go to PhotoBucket.com (free) host your pics there. There all you have to do is copy and paste the IMG code for individual pics here or you can actually do an entire album at once.

Much easier and faster than messing with this host.

Finally I can show the picture of my project enjoy...

The car come in this condtion full body kits, K sport suspension and wheel 22"

Sent the car to paint shop and do the carbon roof

Fixing the curve front bumper

This front head BMW 750il got from Japan only 70,800km cost me $8,500US

last service 68,936km

The engine run perfect

painted intake and valve cover

Old engine out from the engine bay

All the carbon fiber part back

Modified headlight as well

Inside need the redo all the wiring to body E38 750il

That's the second BMW I've seen online customized in Thailand, the first being a black V12 swapped E34 with red interior. I don't know where you guys are getting these cars done, but they are absolutetly A M A Z I N G ! Love everything you did to the car. Where did you get the carbon fiber engine pieces?
