Today at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. No laps done, as the track was closed because of accident #276312873812 and didn't open again today.

Looks great. How'd you mount the projector inside the housing?
Thanks. It was surprisingly easy. The two bottom mounting points on the Bosch housings were exactly the same distance as the mounting points on the new projector. I made a small metal bracket to relocate a third mounting point on the top of the projector.
The projector mounting bracket that was inside the Bosch housing and the metal bracket I made to relocate the third mounting point are shown in the following picture. Once I got that set up, I simply bolted in the new projector.

Nice! No issues with rotating it to line up? Looks great. Very OE look to it. I wish my fx-r retrofit was as clean looking but the performance makes up for all of its downfalls (which really aren't many).
Thanks. That was what was great about being able to use the mounting points already present, the rotation was already locked in.
If I had to be critical, it looks like the left side projector is <1 degree CW relative to the right side projector, but I am going to just live with that since it is so small.
Keeping an OE appearance was definitely what I was going for. A few small things that I did was I replaced the glass inner lens with one I recovered from a set of E38 headlamps, since they have the hole removed in front of the projector, so that makes for one less layer of material for the output to have to pass through. I also replaced the low beam cover in the back of the housing with the rubbery boot from a pre-facelift xenon equipped E39, which already has a hole ready-made for the Hella ballast to snugly pass through and it fit perfectly on the back of the Bosch housing as well. It made for a very clean and OE looking install even behind the housing. The flexibility of the rubber boot allows me to dial in the adjustment up/down left/right adjustments as well.
I am in the process of retrofitting the FX-R 3.0 with the 2.5 inch lens in my Tahoe right now, it is a great projector. I like how the FX-R is completely enclosed, so light bleed out the sides isn't an issue.
EDIT: I just browsed through your retrofit album. Also great work on your projector retrofit!

Thanks! Genius of you to use E38 glass. How'd you figure that one out? It was such a pain to find a shop willing to cut my glass. Even then, it's not perfect but it works and you'd have to really stare at them closely to see why so I'm still happy with the outcome.
pic I took with my new iphone 7 plus, Upgraded my phone this past weekend and the camera is amazing for a quick point and shoot. Sure it's filtered but it looks gud

Thanks! It was taken on our trip down the 101 to San Francisco last week. 2500 miles or so in 10 days. Car made it home no worse for wear other than a cracked fog light.
