@Mslevin Is your car swapped? Love it btw
Here is mine, 325i Coupé '92 !
Not yet M50 lyfe
TBH I'm considering buying a rough S52 and rebuilding it to swap in, but right now I know I'm not driving the car to its fullest potential on track. Once I'm able to do that, I'll get more serious about a swap. My best at Laguna Seca is a 1:53, and I know I can do a 1:51 in it.

Two throwbacks. Need to stop being lazy and fix her up, been sitting in the garage for months now.
Everyone's pics look amazing! lol. While my phone's cam isn't potato quality it def puts in work.
P.S. It's really that hot in this pic.

@djlowd Your wheels are beast. If I could get my hand on those... :')
First shot was taken with my 30mm f1.4, second was taken with a 50mm f1.8 which is why the first shot is significantly sharper lol

Snapped some pics on a dreary morning. Ended up a bit darker than I hoped (laptop adjustment fail).
It's bug season in IL...so don't judge on the speckled bumper lol.
Also cracked my lip (for about the 8th time). Need to clean that up too...

They're fixed focal length, not aperture. And yes, shallower depth of field would make it pop more.

As for the great debate on the aperature....if you go to his Flickr...it shows what camera settings:
Pic 1:
ƒ/1.4
30.0 mm
1
100
Pic 2: Doesn't say aperature, but much longer exposure, same ISO... (I would argue some clarity loss is due to exposure, depending how solid the tripod is).

The 30mm was taken at f/3.5 I believe, and the 50mm at f/5.6. Both my lenses are sharper when stopped down below the max aperture, and because I was using a tripod I wasn't worried about shutter speed. You are right that it may pop more at f1.4, but its too late now to go back and do it again haha. Thanks for the kind words everyone though I always appreciate it!
Edit:
Damnit your right Moron95M3 I should have checked flickr for the settings lol so yes it was shot at f1.4 although I'm not sure why it doesn't look like the subject is very seperated from the background. Maybe because there isn't a lot in the back to blur out so it's hard to tell? I'm still a noob with all this photography stuff so I could be SUPER wrong lol forgive me

that's my point. In my experience anything below f3 on 50mm lense (typically good for portraits) gets washed out completely. Seems like cameras auto settings might be taking over? Or am I confusing f/1.4 with f1.4?
Camera was in full manual except focus. f/1.4 and f1.4 are the same thing sorry its faster to just skip the slash lol
Here's another one from the same shoot with more interesting stuff in the background, any difference? Also the only tripod I have is not the sturdiest...
