unlike C4 vettes and other fun cars to make into these (miatas and fieros comes to mind too) - the E36 has quite a bit of rigidity in the shell. (verts are super flimsy). Also the door frames are all part of the structural unibody, so not sure how much of that you could really 'strip away'. I think the vettes do so well as go karts as their rigidity is solely in the chassis, with plastic panels that don't really do much.
That said, do it!! Put on a tube bumper, strip the other panels and see what happens.

No Alignment yet, i know i know. I Eyeballed it and it tracks straight but it definitely still needs to be done asap. I putt it back and forth from work today and even sans alignment, it feels GOOD. Front will be done but i wont start for at least a month or so, I Have a project for my E39 id like to Finish before Taking on the Front end. Plus i want to tackle the e34 steering coupler and z3 Rack swap at the same time, so i need to prep for that as well. I will be getting New Coilovers for the E36 in the next week, week and a half, after that ill get it aligned and it will go back on daily duty until i finish with my touring!

Sweet! Front end is so much simpler and quicker to do than the rear by a long shot.

Just picked up this mint little E36 sedan. 1998 318i (M43) is a bit under powered but for a daily it will do fine. Exclusive package interior is so fresh. Should be a nice place to be during my commute.
