Ever since I learned the ways of the two bucket method combined with a foam cannon I can't help cringe at self wash station brushes.... Or just brushes in general.

lol
Get one. Seriously. Even a cheap Amazon one is worth it. You'll see. You can cover the entire car in foam in under a minute. I usually foam it up. Let it sit for a few minutes, rinse it off, foam it again and then hand wash it. Plenty of lubrication on the car plus you've already "pre-knocked off" the heavy stuff. Even then I still use a wash and rinse bucket and it never fails to capture a whole bunch of crap I'd never would've caught the "traditional" way of doing it.
That may be ok for power washing concrete, walls wood and such but not for a car. It can't touch what a foam cannon can do.
I use a cheap HF bug spray tank w/ a car washing solution a detailer recommended, and some quality micro fiber towels. I let the solution stand for a couple minutes, and then without any pressure to paint, make a pass on a clean portion of the towel to pick up the dirt particles. Then spray again, use medium pressure to remove any sap or nonsense stuck to paint. Pretty simple to do on my GFs ceramic coated car, able to do it in the single car garage of my apartment. I use any excess solution left over to quickly wipe down the e36.
I had never cared before how a car got washed, but can definitely tell a difference using this method.
^^ Haha it's funny because I wouldn't know about foam canons if it wasn't for Instagram
Anyways I went out to take some pics today after a quick wash, and I noticed that the bokeh looks very odd in this shot and a few others... Any ideas?

And here you can see where I've disconnected the ignition tumbler from the switch. I look like I'm driving a stolen car now having to start it with a screwdriver...

What was apature set at on those? ///m moldings looking good! Hard to tell from the pics but hit your steering wheel threads with a wet tooth brush and get that tri stitch popping.

Shots looks great, bokeh looks decent. How far from the car are you and what focal length are you using?
got sent this one from a car show back in january

Nice picture. Got more info on that trunk?
I feel like he should be getting more bokeh for that aperture. Here's a shot with a 50mm at f/1.8. Focus was just behind the door handle.
