Here some pics of the new and stronger repair clips I sent to Avec, can be used when the old ones are broken or separated from the triangle shade, use a scissor and cut the screen straight, bolt on the new clip, done.
These pics are from the first series made, nowadays the bolts and screws are galvanized to match the color of the plastic clip, not in chrome shining.
Available from now till stock lasts. Parts made on a CNC machine

The clips Shogun sent work really well. Not only are they very secure, the allow for adjustment of the shade tension. If the spring wears out, the clip can be removed, the shade roller turned a completed revolution and the clip put back on - tensioned back to where they should be.

DV8OR, I have a set remaining, although not quite the quality as the ones pictured above. Bookmark this thread and let me know down the road. I haven't even looked at them for a while. Too many other things going on.

I received my pair of these clips from shogun, and they work great and fit perfectly on the shade. They're a perfect solution to the torn off clips on the corner sunshades. I was gonna try to find new shades but they're pretty difficult to come across, so this was good alternative.

    too many, see sig
    Shogun: thanks. Appreciated.

Avec: yep, I found a spare set of shades in a 750 a guy south of Seattle was parting out. Drove 2.5h to go fetch it all.

They're out there guys - watch your local CL and stuff for part outs; maybe you'll get lucky.

Now if only I could find a leather upper dash...

I'm in for a set. I need the quarter window clips at the very least. If you have a repair kit for the tabs on the larger side shade I'd like those too. Also, if you know where I can find them, I need the frames for the rear quarter window as mine are broken.(Where they screw to the door window frame)

    Thanks!

The clips for the triangle sunshades are not available as single item from BMW, my ones are special made and available from me, better and stronger than the original ones and can also be added onto a broken shade as shown above. So with my clips defective triangle shades can be repaired instead of spending $200 for a new one, if still available at all. Clips price at cost $24 per piece, shipped by airmail, non registered. In case someone wants to have them by airmail, registered, add $5. Cheaper than a cpl. new triangle shade for $160, in case you would get one. Can sell either one piece or as a pair for both sides. When these are gone, no more new production

As there were many inquiries for these triangle repair clips and the original version made by CNC machine is NLA, here is the new cheaper version available made with a 3D printer, tested over 2 years with different materials to find out the best material mix which can stand extreme cold and heat +UV. Target was to make it cheaper with same function. This is a DIY kit, only the plastic material will be supplied by me = left + right side bracket + handle. Not included 2 screws + bolts (M2.5*6 fits perfect) + the wire/rod holding the handle, that has to be glued in or first use a soldering iron to melt the material around it + then add a bit of glue, see sample. Plus you have to make a angled hook , example see in my post # 1 or my drwg below.
Because of 3D production instead of CNC machine production the price could be reduced drastically. A set for 2 triangle shades as shown in this pic consisting of totally 6 parts (not the part on top of the pic, that is an example how the wire is glued in) including shipping by airmail non registered $25.
Limited qty available. Sample pic https://www.directupload.net/file/d/...jnw39z_jpg.htm

OK, so I've never actually seen one of these clips - every 5er or 7er I've ever been in had them already broken and gone.

Could you send me a couple close up pictures of them assembled from a couple difference angles?

So, I thought there was just one wire, but after looking at these pictures more closely it looks like there are 2 wires, right? One for the handle that is straight and one that is shaped like the drawing to clip into the holder? Hmm, maybe a small thin nail clipped on both ends would be a good pin for the handle.

see my post 1 where I posted assembled ones, 1 wire holds the handle and that is straight, the other rectangular wire is the one which holds the sunshade in the bracket when closed.

I'm going to try this again - I got done and then lost it the first time.

    So first, the hardware.

I bought a pair of RC10 T3 trucks for my son and I a couple years ago. The guy was getting out of the hobby and gave me two tool boxes, and both the original boxes the trucks came in full of spare parts. There was literally enough stuff to build a third complete truck.

    20200121_000133.jpg

So I dug through this box and found some flat head screws that were short enough, and I also found that the standard nuts were exactly the right size for the countersunk nut cutouts in the tabs.

    20200121_000143.jpg

I did have to cut a little material from the cutout on one of the holes, but the rest fit snugly when I used the screws to pull the nut down into the recess:

    20200120_221245.jpg

These paperclips were the exact right size and I thought the gold would look a little more OEM than a normal chrome paper clip.

Anyway, the 3D printing residue in the wire channels needed to be cut out.

    20200120_222621.jpg

Also, I needed to clean out the residue from the holes for the hanger wire (you can see the difference in the two holes in the above image.

I used my drill - but just to hold the drill bit. The 3D printing plastic is so soft I knew I couldn't actually use the drill, so I just turned it slowly by hand and kept checking it until it was the right depth.

Once that was done, it was time to cut and bend the wires.

    Attachment 665619

And this is how it should look when it's ready to bolt together on the shade:

    Attachment 665620

I rolled the shade until it was making enough tension to pull itself back firmly, but not too tight when it was extended, and then I taped it to the housing and figured out where I wanted the tabs to clamp on the shade itself.

I marked it and used pressure and a small allen wrench to make holes, and then I took the top plate of the tab (the one without the wire cutouts in it) and put the little screws through the top plate and the shade.

I also trimmed the shade here instead of waiting until it was all together.

    Attachment 665621

The pull tab should be on the inside of the car:

    Attachment 665622

We're close - one more post...

    Finished:

    Attachment 665623

Here are a couple more (navigating the 5 pic limit here)...

    20200120_235202.jpg

    20200120_235448.jpg

The very last thing I did was take a sharpie and color the nuts black.

    20200120_235706.jpg

    20200120_235713.jpg

    That's it!

I also replaced both a laptop screen and a phone screen that same night - talk about a productive night!

I can't make the pictures work - I give up. At least they're not photobucket - you can click on them and look at them.

Just installed my new handles made by Shogun himself! I am super happy someone made a repair kit for these fragile old blinds. Worked perfectly, and a fun and easy DIY project.
