I have heard about those two cars. Supposedly they sit for 13 months a year in a climate controlled garage with a dehumidifier running.
I just had the M3 out for a ride a few weeks ago and scared the sh-t out of myself and put it back in the garage lol

Yes, and if I had them I would do the same.
It would take alot of discipline and self control but the end result is 2 mint
gorgeous turbo cars.
Im lying if I owned them they wouldn't be in the condition they are in.

This is why I like forced induction so much -- it has the potential to be scary and get you in trouble. My other naturally aspirated car has a boring, long, predictable powerband, but is not nearly as entertaining.
Its true. I hope I don't get too used to it. I've been dialed in at 16 psi now for a couple weeks and. Have a hard time turning it down.Originally Posted by pbonsalb
The bigger question is, how much punishment can my car take with the milage it has. After pulling the compression test today it seems like it is unscathed.

I've been at 20. When I was changing wastegat springs. I installed 1 bar springs and had the controller only a couple clicks. It crept right up to 20.Originally Posted by Mod Addict

22 psi, that maybe pushing my luck. LOL

Anyone tossed around the concept of supercharging an m10?
I would not bother supercharging a small displacement motor such as the M10. The supercharger drags on the crank and there just is not massive power to spare. Sure, it will still add power, but it is not very efficient. Car makers have run superchargers on little 2L motors before like the Scion and Mini, but they later switched to turbos on both those cars. I really think turbo is the way to go for the small motors.
Alright so say I was new to turbo which I am, I am definitely willing to learn and I know how to turn a wrench and whatnot. My question is what stuff is universal for turbo kits and what needs to be fabricated in the case of an m10. I would love to turbo it, but there just obviously isn't a kit and nobody has really posted exactly what is needed.

Yeah I saw that, tried messaging him to no avail....said he used an ebay turbo.....so he just bought one of those kits and dumped everything but the turbo?
So he converted to e85 and added a new fuel pump. Is that stuff needed? Also can the stock injectors handle any boost or do they need replacing?

The trick is the tuning. Figure that out. I have not gotten that far yet, but my first thought is Megasquirt (we have a 75 2002 with M10 that may get a turbo next year).
The rest is relatively easy although some fabrication work is required.
I personally would not bother with the ebay turbo kits. I have yet to see anyone do much with one of them. I would piece together the parts, but I know what is required.
What is this I hear you are selling the 5er??Originally Posted by Bricas45

My turbo 99M3 would not want to miss the cool, dense winter air. My naturally aspirated 08M3 with factory 12.0:1 compression also performs best in cold weather. Straight line and cornering traction are less with the snow wheels, but I'd rather be buying the cars I bought to enjoy than some beater that I drive while I dream about driving my M3s again in the spring.
If my car project budget replenishes, I might think about putting Eagle or K1 or Molnar rods, GT4094R turbo, and CES cutring spacer gasket set on the turbo 99M3 this winter. But nothing is planned and nothing possible before late winter.
