Looking for a thread about a touring hatch wire harness

Couple months ago there was a thread a out the guy having an issue with his wire harness and it ended to be replaced. Another forum member linked a page that had a wire harness replacement piece was about a foot long and was designed for the hatch (bending from opening and closing) mine has to be redone the right way and I new to get this ... Does anyone happen to remember or know where I can buy this piece

    Thanks

I don't think they sell a 1-ft length like you are talking about. However you can buy the entire harness - one for each side of the hatch. Part numbers 61108365702 and 61108365704.

I think I remember reading that post, but appears to have been deleted. IIRC, the poster had bought the harnesses but spliced them in at a downstream location, thus giving him an extra foot or so of wiring to play with. There was no "1 foot splice" unless it was put together by the poster. Use the above part numbers to do an online search of your usual parts suppliers; that should produce a bit of savings over your local dealer's MSRP.

Repair looms in the UK are priced at £120 each (And there are two!!)
The loom must also be cut to fit them-it's not plug and play.

I was lucky. My replacement tailgate came with all its wiring-split in the usual place, but plenty left in the right colours and in good condition to splice some in to repair mine.

I will be doing as the OP says-replacing about a foot of the split wiring where it runs around the hinges, soldering and heatshrinking every connection.
    Kind regards

I can't imagine replacing the whole thing and spending 100-200$ on it ... The piece that was linked was about 30 for just a short piece to replace the Damaged section
