Got back from our trip to Munich and sadly (yes, need to mention this in the first sentance), wasn't able to meet up with Sparky because of food poisoning. FML.
Besides that, loved the trip. Here are a few of the pictures we took.
View of BMW headquarters from the subway:
View from the Welt:
Another view from the Welt. The headquarters is on the left, the museum is to the right:
Another:
View of the bridge between the Welt and the headquarters:
Where the bridge meets the Welt:
Stitched panorama between Welt on the right and the headquarters & museum on the left:
View of the Welt from the bridge. Tower from the Olympic village on the left:
Stitched view of Welt from the bridge:
View of the Welt and bridge from the side of the museum:

Now for some interior pictures of the Welt.
Shot towards the North entrance:
Display there at the North entrance with M6, X6m, and M3:
Frozen Grey M3 at North entrance:
Next to the North display is the small RR section:
Towards the middle, will stairway up to the second level (which connects to bridge):
Over a bit further, showing restaurant:

Elevator up to the Preferred Customers Lounge:
9AM and the lounge has 3 types of beer (all you can drink, of course), food, and cappuccino. Comfy chairs and couches, and fast/free internet (bizarrely difficult to find in Munich):
The Preferred Customer Lounge also has champagne in very nice Schott Zwiesel crystal flutes. Yes, flutes kinda suck compared to normal stemware, but I think they're going more for celebration than nosing:
The staircase down to the delivery area. On the upper left of the picture is the customer lounge, with the private customer balcony there in front:
A view from the private customer balcony. Lounge at right, stairs down to delivery area on left. Cars on turntables being delivered at bottom:
The delivery roundabout and elevator (cars lifted from center):
Friends car being delivered, with film crew:
Ours:
Had to take picture of ours next to the Polizei M5:
Shot from the back (showing the BMW motorcross section at the upper right):
A final look at the delivery corkscrew. I think they call it the victory lap? The customer lounge is at the top of this picture. The reception at the South entrance is at the bottom:
Our M5 next to our friend's. Sequential license plates.
The $3000 cruise distance control option on an individual frozen white M5:
I waited a whole 60 miles before hitting 170mph. Unfortunately, BMW said to keep it under 4500RPM for the first 1200 miles, so 170 is all I could do. Picture taken at just 156:
It's amazing what a difference that speed is. At 170mph, you're not doing anything but concentrating, with your eyes fixed on the far horizon.
At 120mph, it feels comfortable an relaxed, like you can do it all day.
At 100mph, minivans pass you like you're standing still.

Internet itself is hard to find, or just free?
What a beautiful car, many congrats man. What goodies did you order on it?
And how far are y'all driving before shipping it out?

Fast and free internet is hard to find. Our hotel had the internet equivalent of trying to use Sprint while in the subway.
Didn't order that much. Black/Black with aluminum. Driver Assistance, Executive Package, HUD, BMW Apps. I think that's pretty much it. Skipped night vision, full leather, and wheels (getting aftermarket).
Only drove it a couple hundred miles or so. Food poisoning.
Shipping takes about 8 weeks to the West Coast. Of that time, about 3 weeks is at sea, rest of it is dealing with customs.

Real nice. I lived in Munich in 2002 when I wasn't really into BMWs, and recently realized I lived around 4 miles away from BMW HQ.
Why are they parked soo close?
Super jelly and awesome pics!
How cool is that?
Must have been a fun experience. Great pics!!
looks awesome
Just got back about a month ago from touring BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. Unfortunately I did not bring home an m5
Munich/BMW Welt is on my list. Would love to do an Euro Delivery.
